Love my GMS and will probably stay with them for a long time. I also use a DW Cravioto 13" snare.

Nice set but the crash near the floor toms seems very distant, almost like its in its own little island, but very nice set....

I've had 4 kits in 3 years and now built myself one i love
the sound of and love playing.

Yamaha Stage Custom
AA metal 20 inch ride
AAXexplosion 17 inch crash
AAX 17 INCH studio crash
Sabian Pro 18 inch crash

In my 20 years as a Musician I have never had enough money to buy any Good equipment , EVER!!!

So I allways Make due with what I can afford which is usually the cheapest you can Possibly get...

Now I have a New Black 5 Piece CB Kit ($350 US) with DW Pacific Double Kick Pedals ($75 US) and 2 Sabian Rides and 2 Sabian Crashes and a Genaric 14in Splash/Crash and a home made China type cymbal and Sabian Hi-Hats...

These Cymbals sound awefull accept for the China which I made myself and the Geraric Splash/Crash, I was able to get the sound a Bit better for recording by Tapeing up the Cymbals with Duct Tape....

The CB Kit though Sounds Pretty Good with new Skins, even better than my Old Pearl Export did with Old skins on it...and I like the Memory Locks it has which makes it very simple to take down and set up without haveing to adjust everything for an hour before I get it right.....

Cheers

I have a Remo Mastertouch 7 pc kit. I know it's not a popular brand, but beleive me it sounds really good. My snare is a Pearl Sensitone brass.
Cheers!

Here's a pic http://www.remo.com/upload/2005/10/20/46898893.jpg

Mastertouch are really good drums. I used to have an Encore kit and I couldn't give them away when I was ready to sell, even though they sounded great.

People want to see that name brand badge.

1961 Ludwig Club Date drum kit. It's made of sexified wood. I love it very much, think Ringo. It's his kit. The snare is the best sounding snare i've ever played.

Custom DW shells with Pearl lugs and rims, and a late 50's Rogers eagle badge snare... shweet.

Tama Starclassic myself... and it has nothing to do with Mike Portnoy... ugh. I am pretty old school I guess. Coated G1 batters, clear G1 resonants. I tried Pinstripes, but they made these wonderful drums sound like poo. Superkick II on the kick and Genera Dry for the snare. I also have a Pearl kit which is pretty much collecting dust. I simply hate the Pearl hardware. Those big bar elbow things make me nuts. Ball and socket ala Tama and Yamaha are where it is at.

I play a Pearl Master's Custom MMX in Liquid Amber.
Yes, it sounds very good!

& remo

can't vote for more than 1...................premier genista

remo master edge bebop kit

Roland TD10 expanded electronic kit

+ a multitude of snares

I've been banging on the same set of Pearls since 1979, almost due for a rewrap, but they sound as good if not better now than they did the day I bought 'em. Add the vintage Zildjians and it's a damn good kit.

just got a new mapex

it sounds good just needs to be broken in and adjusted right. I think a crap set broken in sounds better than a new set unbroken. I'm not sure but its just a little too tight and needs to loosen up

I can remember the excitement I felt when I got my first snare at age 11 in 1962. It was a 8 inch Slingerland Blue tritone. I was in heaven. I was taking lessons at the time and my heroes were Sandy Nelson, Gene Krupa, and Joe Morello. I also was really into things like the Kingsmen. I wound up getting a Pearl set a couple years later. Pearl was absolute crap back then. I played that same set of Pearls until I was about 16 and then traded them on a Fender Bandmaster and a Harmony guitar. I played off and on over the years when I got the chance, but I really became a guitarist/pedal steeler instead.

About six years ago I picked up a new set of Yamaha Stage Customs. I played them off and on in my home studio for about four years. Two years ago, I finally got a really nice set which I still have. It is a seven piece Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute in Silver Sparkle. Actually, the bass is Birch, all else is Maple. I'm using Avedis Zildians and the Zildian Masterclass HH. This is really overkill for me but I'm happy :)

whoever made this poll should be shot in the head!
wheres sonor, porkpie, spaun?
Just kiddin buddy, a shot to the foot will do;)

i also am not a fan of pearl. i use 70's ludwig vistalites. i love them, they sound great, are loud as hell, and are some of the coolest looking drums...
