got a dirty mixer over here!!!
for the board itself, after reading the console care part of allen and heath's website...i'm thinking small amounts of rubbing alcohol and a child's soft toothbrush to get the caked on dust off...

but as far as all the pots and faders...is there a simple trick you guys use to clean em...i mean the plastic hardware...

im trying to think of someway simpler than washing them all by hand in the sink...

If you can get all knobs off, put them in the silverware basket in the dishwasher (if it has a lid) and run 'em with the dishes. :)

.

hmm i have to check if it has a lid...
im a little scared that the little tops might pop out of the pots

Or you could put them in a mesh bag, and put them on the top rack of the dishwasher.

.

ahh i like the sound of that better...
what the fuck is a mesh bag used for..so i'd have any idea where to look

what sort of drugs
this is turning in a two birds with one stone type of purchase

You can get small mesh bags at the grocery store, where they sell laundry supplies. Women use them to wash their pantyhose - putting them in the bag keeps 'em from getting all wrapped around the agitator but allows all the soap and water to get through.

what do you guys use to clean the 1/4 and xlr connectors???

for the faders i let them soak in hot water and soap for a bit...and then washed em off, and took a knife to the little ridges to get the gunk out...

im going to take the pots...put em in some long socks, tie em off and send em in the clothes washer...hehe

btw...i am fully not psyched to replace the 355 pots in perfect positioning tomorrow

On any pot that turns I use Nu-Trol by MG Chemicals, I worked as an audio technician for years and it was a staple in my shop, just do a Google search and you can find. I don't use it on faders though because it can screw up the smooth feel to it.

of course i just meant the plastic hardware went in the machine...

Deoxit seemed quite confusing at a passing glance (had to run out)...seemed to be 45 different types of each

I just ordered some stuff from them. Get the 5% wash solution for really dirty stuff. The 100% for final cleaning. Get the Fader Lube for faders. You can get the Gold for protection.

so i am to just buy some sort of spray...and spray it right into my connectors on the mixer???

*shudders in fear*
