MBHO mics

Does anyone have any direct experience or reference to MBHO mics ? They are supposed to have very similar quality as Schoeps or Sennheiser, only the price is half … which is very tempting, supposing the sound quality is not also a bit cheaper … My area is recording acoustic instruments (violin, viola, flutes) etc. either solo or in chamber group.

I think the guy who designs mics for MBHO used to work for Schoeps so it's reasonable they might have some of the same personality.

MBHO mics seem to be highly regarded over at the rec.audio.pro newsgroup. Personally I'd like to get a pair of their omni's with a jecklin disk.

I Myself...

... Wouldn't want to say MBHOs sound-like or are just as good as Schoeps or not, but I WILL say they have some GREAT mics I'd spend my money on without EVER thinking twice about it!
