cheers. ive got the materials to build 1 more but im not sure where toput it. should go in the same room as this one (control room) which is suffering from standing waves, or in the tracking room which is suffering from high freq. reflections. The control room is very small since i built a new desk. The panel in my post is behind the person mixing and i could put the new one behind the monitors on that wall? any suggestions? cheers

BTW, the "roof insulation" you used, is not very effective for absorption. Rigid fiberglass works far better as it has superior density. And as a matter or course,
8 square feet is not a lot of absoption area even in a small room.
 
ok cheers. have you tested the absorbing properties of roof insulation? Its not a problem changing whats inside them, just until its definatly not very good, il stick with it.

A i said im building another one, so 16 sq. ft. total will be the figure.

Me?Hardly, but if this is batt type insulation(such as Owens Corning "Pink"), then I'm sure you will find the manufacturers absorption coefficients on the net to check against various "acoustical" rigid fiberglass products. Not knowing what it is you used in your "absorber", I wouldn't know where to look myself. However, here is a list of coefficients of various products to compare what you used against. Rest assured though, if it is a standard insulation product, you will find the absorption coefficient somewhere on the net to compare with. :)

Hey technominds,

Nice effort on the studioshare site! I just signed up and hope that others will soon as well. I am adding a few things to my studio at the moment (and I also need to get it cleaned up), but will post pictures to share before too awfully long.

One suggestion, by the way - would it be possible to facilitate "grouping" of the pictures in some way? It seems to me that if the site catches on and a lot of people post multiple pics, it would be nice to have them organized by person/studio. Just a thought.

Sitting here trying to figure out how to post a pic ?...Looking at all these cool studios...wanted to add one of my Music Room
 
Here's my scale studio diagram ... It's a work in progress.

Main room dimensions are 11 feet wide by 15 feet long (not including closet)

Legend:
black = wall
orange = power outlet
light teal = computer display platform
dark blue = main desk
light blue = back desk
red line = room centerline
bright green = window (top center).... door (bottom right)
mint green = monitors (speakers)
pink = 60 degree stereo triangle

Whew... Try comparing it to the following...

Lol... Agreed... Lighting seems to be as much of an issue in here as the acoustics... :D
