meh...i find it depends on who you get on a given day. i had to exchange a couple things before. one guy charged me the restocking fee, on another day another rep didnt. overall i love the store. i wish i could live in it actually

They don't have a damn clue. Space sure seems to be expanding though... Luckily 99% of the universe is "dark" matter and energy! (e.g. our math is faulty so we make shit up to explain it)
 
I think I've figured it out....all the fat Americans are growing fatter...thereby pushing air molecules. This pushes the earth's atmosphere. Which stretch the space around it, stretching the Milky Way...this stretches the rest of space...thereby expanding it! :eek:

I wish the restocking fee was more consistent. We are technically supposed to charge it on anything that comes back looking like it has been opened to recuperate any losses from the next customer complaining that it is an open box and they should get a discount, but generally we only enforce the policy on customers who return stuff all the time (and are probably buying gear to use at a gig and then return) or if it comes back really messed up. At least, at my store that's generally how it goes.
 
Heard back from GC a few minutes ago, about my order that I made Nov 1st...
at the time, my item was listed as "in stock and ready to ship"..I paid for the item then found out it was`nt in stock...then I got an email saying it will be available, and ready to ship 11-11-2011...no big deal, Was`nt in a huge hurry..at the time...
But on the 12th I got an email saying it`s still on back order, but should be available shortly..
again, not a huge deal, but I was looking forword to getting my item....

had`nt heard anything since then, so I sent GC a message earlier today..

I got this reply a few minutes ago....

"Thank you for your recent inquiry. I am seeing that unfortunately, your item is still on backorder. It appears that we should be getting your item in around 12/9/2011. We should be able to ship it out around the 12th or 13th of December. I apologize for the delay"...

ARG!!....LOL...ohh well, hopefully It will atleast arrive in time for christmass..LOL

That sucks, but it can happen anywhere. They might have had 1 in stock and someone else got it before you, or their inventory was wrong, or there was a problem with the one they had in stock. Like everyone else, they are subject to their supplier's abilities to provide the products.
 
and they don't charge your credit card 'till it's in shipping ready to go. So though you've given them the credit card #, you shouldn't have actually paid anything for the item yet
 
no, what happen is/was...I seen the item on the GC website...looked up my local store, seen it listed as in stock and ready to ship etc..so i went to my local GC outlet, and walked up to the counter with the info on what i wanted..payed for it in cash ($184 and some change I believe it was)..then the guy went in the back for a few, and came out telling me they did`nt infact have it in stock, and then he made a call to their wharehouse, and was told their expecting a shipment of them on the 11th of NOV..so I just told them to go ahead and ship it to me, rather then have it sent to the store, and me having to go back over there etc...
then about a week and a half later, on the 12th of november, is when i got an email saying it was still on backorder...
then of course the other day after not hearing anything else since the 12th, I went ahead and sent them a message...which i will have to say, they do seam to be good about getting back with ya fairly quickly, cause within an hour probley, I got a reply saying their expecting a shipment of the item/s sometime around DEC 9th, and will try to ship it to me on the 12th or 13th..

anyway, it happens..I know sometimes a computor will say something is in stock, when in fact, it`s not..
I just hope this does`nt drag on for months..
 
The last time I went in to buy XLR cables the guy at the counter tries telling me all about the better more expensive ones. This is the point where I very bluntly told him that I don't give a damn and that I already have what I need. While this was happening his boss was behind the counter(someone who knew me as a customer) laughing hysterically at him. I also could help but laugh due to his supervisors infectious laughter.
