    WTB Axiom 25 MIDI controller

Hi all, figured I'd throw out the fact that I want to buy an Axiom 25 MIDI controller. Throw me a PM or reply if you're looking to unload one!

Axiom - need to download patches?

Heya MelloT, I just posted a reply to a question you had in the MIDI forum. This Q leads me to believe you don't have your controller setup in your DAW correctly. Here's a really brief quick rundown of what you'll basically need to do. You mention Cubase here, and Live in the other forum. I...

Have Axiom plugged into both Firebox and USB

Assuming you're talking about this.. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/MAudio-Axiom-25-25Key-USB-MIDI-Controller?sku=706313 The first question I'd have is why you have it running into your Firebox. It's just a midi controller, and so doesn't have much use running through the Firebox when...

Any reason to use Firebox input over usb?

Thanks. I was mainly confused because I've heard of timing and "clock" phrases with MIDI and have not real understanding of that. This keeps my setup much easier!

Help understanding what all this software does...

Regarding Rewire, what isn't clear to me is at what point mixing should begin. So, say I have a beat I've made in Reason. With Rewire I can send that as audio into a Cubase track. But both Reason and Cubase allow for mixing. Is there any advantage over using one program to mix over the...

Any reason to use Firebox input over usb?

Hi all. I recently purchased a keyboard with MIDI. The keyboard has no MIDI connectors, but rather a USB connector. I have a MIDIMAN, but I think its strictly MIDI-->USB, and not the other way around (could be wrong). So anyway, is there any reason to connect the keyboard straight into the...

Help understanding what all this software does...

Very informative post altitude, thanks. For anyone else interested, I've found videos showing off this software on youtube to be pretty helpful in clearing up any confusion as well. What takes a page of reading becomes clear very quickly when you see this stuff in action. I'll be doing some...

Help understanding what all this software does...

Ok, so I'm a Cubse LE user, and recently decided to at least start looking at the "big boy" software. It turns out this stuff is way harder to understand than I would have thought, but after much reading I think I have it somewhat clear. So, hopefully some of you can help me out with this...

    Suggestions for a basic keyboard

Hello all, I'm looking for a keyboard. I have just a few needs, listed in order of importance... Price (cheap cheap, $50 or less ideally) Tone - it must be in tune (duh!) and either have a headphone jack or it's own little speaker. Size - 2 octaves is probably my top choice, 3-4 maybe but...

    "Open Source" songs/files?

Hi all, I'm wondering... is there a way to get unmixed recorded music files? Not from a major band or anything, just songs that need mixing and are just basic recorded files. I'm wondering cause I'd like to do more mixing, but I don't have a way of recording much at the moment. They'd have to...

    the right pick?

These are the only types I've used mentioned in this thread. I like them a lot, but I just bought a pack of the orange (little lighter, .6 or something). I've only had enough time to get an initial reaction using them, but I'll likely be switching over. The reduced drag when picking feel...

    Telecaster

Just 'cause it doesn't sound like a standard tele doesn't mean it's ruined. I have a 72 thinline, has 2 HB's and semihollow, and I'd say it's still worth having  . Buy a guitar based off of its sound, not the model name.

How much affect does it have.........

If you have a pinky, make sure you take the time to learn to use it. It's immensly helpful. Don't let that statement get you down, like it was posted, there are amazing guitarists with missing fingers. You will need to put more thought into how you play though, but forcing creativity can't be...

    My brain's the speed-brake...

Good to know. @ six - It was kinda mentioned by castle, but slowing way down (like 60bpm) and really nitpicking your technique can also make your speed increase. I'd think making it to the speed you have you probably already use this type of practice though. This helps me anyway, start @ 60...

    Buzzing

yeah, its pretty common to get fret buzz out of electrics. If its a serious problem (reducing sustain and such) you can raise the action. It shouldn't be too noticable coming through the amp.
