Samplitude SE vs. Magix Music Studio 11

Does anyone know what the differences/pluses/minuses about these programs are? Both are about the same price point & made by the same co. & either would probably meet my needs. FYI, I do both audio & MIDI.

What's an old Korg M1 worth lately?

It has a metal body (not plastic) & 1 or 2 broken buttons easily fixed. Original factory sounds plus a CD of additional stuff along w/a program to load them. Definitely vintage. I'm thinking of getting something like a little Yamaha DGX200, 202, 203, 205 etc. for more updated sounds.

    online realtime jamming?

I'm posting this here cuz I don't know where else to post it, but I figured if anyone would be into something like this they might hang out here... So, does anybody know of a reliable, non-latency-ridden means of jamming w/someone else in another city (or country, for that matter) in realtime...

Home Studio 2004 WAV files to SIAB DAW

I want to move some songs from Cakewalk into a standalone box, a Zoom 1044. The USB interface is hooked up between the computer & the 1044. What is the best way to do this? Do I need to locate the wave files & move them track by track?

    Zoom 1044 questions

So I broke down & got this little box used for cheap, cuz I was fed up w/my computer...it's pretty fun & easy to use, but I have a few questions so far. Any zoomers out there who could help here? At this point it's hard to tell if the problem is the machine or my inexperience with it. 1. When I...

    mic'ing 2 singing players w/only 2 inputs

Here's the situation: 2 musicians each playing a small acoustic instrument, & each player also singing from time to time. The instrument is a solid-body kalimba-like thing about 8" square, called mbira. It's played held on the player's lap & seems to like nearfield micing from the back of the...

    Broken button

I just received a used Zoom MRS1044 & the reverb/send button is jammed crookedly under the surface of the machine. Is there an easy way to fix this or would it require opening up the whole darn box from the bottom? I already tried to push it back into place with some teeny tweezers but it didn't...

    using condenser & dynamic simultaneously

If I have only 2 xlr inputs & 1 phantom power switch for the both of them, is there any safe way to record w/both a condenser & dynamic mic at the same time? Would this be possible w/an external preamp on one of them?

    shockmounts for MXL603's

anyone know where to get something that would work for a good price? I picked up a couple at GC a while ago & w/the sale prices, the shockmounts were almost as much as the mics!

audio problems after major PC tune-up

I origninally posted this in the Cakewalk forum but got no response, so I thought I'd try it here. FYI, I'm running XP Home & Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 on a 22khz AMD PC w/120 gigs hard drive & Tascam US-122 as interface/sound card. It kept crashing intermittently, but only in that...

can't hear audio playback after PC tune-up

I'm sure somebody has posted info about this somewhere here but I can't seem to find it w/Search...I also posted this over at cakewalk.com. Not sure if this is more of a question for the Computer Recording forum... After having numerous problems w/my WinXP PC, I just had a master programmer...

US-122 incompatible with AMD VIA chipset

Some of you may remember responding to my thread "Device driver crashes in XP" roughly a month ago. Thanks to those who offered solutions/suggestions. Well, I finally got thru to Tascam & nailed down the problem. They told me "this device is incompatible with AMD VIA chipsets. We've always...

    what is it with hitsquad.com?

On the suggestion of some posting here about software, I went to this site to try to download some demo programs to try out. First I got a popup saying "congratulations, you are the 1 millionth visitor to this site. You just won $2500. Call this no. to claim your prize." It even had that...

    retro-record options?

Sometimes in the heat of creative passion  I forget to change record mode settings, & end up with something I didn't plan on. Like I had intended to store takes in a single track but neglected to turn off the loop function or the "store takes in different tracks" option. So everything...
