Since these 2 machines are at the same price point, does anyone have the user experience to compare these 2 machines? in terms of:

quality of sound, fx, pre's, noise, size of screen, stability, portability,
& any other aspects you think important.

The TASCAM can't do it's own burns, correct? The screens on both are not large. Personally I never had anything bad to say about the VF80 pres. The VF80 is really a 6-track machine unless you burn a wav file to CD and mix on a PC. The HardDrive noise of the VF80 WILL be picked up by a good condensor mic, so you have to move away from the machine. I can't say how loud the TASCAM is.
