I have been sending all my vocals to a bus to be able to add effects as a whole and control volume at once. Today I noticed when I click the "sum to mono" button on the vocal bus everything seem to sound better. Should this bus track always sum to mono when working with vocals?

I tend to Lower the DB's of the low range and raise the mid and high range DB of the vocal. depending on recorded vocal is how much db i alter. THEN I add compression (customised to each vocal) Basically I find it easier to sit the vocal in the mix this way
