Anybody have any experience with this Yamaha bass?
I'm looking for a beginner bass for studio recording, mostly for putting into electronic/synthesizer tracks. It will be recorded direct through a Genesis G3 modeler, and probably will never be amped through a proper head/cabinet. I'm hoping the active humbuckers will keep noise down (which is why i'm going for the 774 and not a 270), but I'm not a guitar or bass player really, so I don't know anything about this stuff. If the pickups are no good, how much would a decent set run?
The Yamahas seem to have a good name for their low-mid line basses so I'm hoping it won't be a let down.
