Yeah, it sucks. Even at the highest Mp3 conversion, it still compresses the shit out of clips.

Oh I hear it clear as day...my true wave sound unreal...and in your face....I seen it took waves..and then after it loaded it said converting wav...I said dang that sucks..lol

the MP3 didn't add an unbelievably over the top amount of reverb to the track. Are you incapable of understanding anything anyone says.
Turn down the reverb regardless of what your tastes are if you want anyone to be able to tell anything about your speakers.

He should check out some of the Weber speaker. Their Michigan 12 will handle 100W ($112).
I have the Chicago 12, which handles 80W...and it's a sweet speaker. Used it in a Bogner Shiva, then when the Shiva went, I kept the Chicago since it was almost new.

There's a lot of mud in the kick. In my experience, kicks sometimes like a healthy scoop around 400 and somewhere between 100-200hz. The snare is pretty flubby. No attack. Muddy as well. You captured it well, but I suspect it'll be mushy in a full mix. I'd say tune it tighter - top and bottom - and try to get more crack out of it. The overheads seem okay. Seems like a pretty natural spread. Maybe you could go even wider with them.

Thanks, man. I'll keep at it. I think I can probably get the kick clearer by moving the mic around. The snare has some compression, so reducing that should up the attack and then I'll tune it up if stills needs more.

Seeker, I don't know the first thing about tuning drums, nada, I don't even know what it means.
But if it is like a guitar I can say that the snare could be tuned 'up' a little, it might be a tad bit flat.

I gotta say; what a pain in the ass drums are.
I can't believe the trouble that guys have to go to to make some music.

I got to thinking about it, it's like anything else,
if you have the space and the gear and the passion for
it (as well as the time), it is probably a very satisfying pursuit.

I'm looking at the WGS Invader 50's. Supposedly they're a Greenback-ish sound with higher power handling (50w). I'm waiting to hear back from the fellas at WGS about them. Their soundclips are pretty good and I'd love to put two of them in this stereo 4x12 I have. I'd really like a Greenback sound without having to get another 4x12 full of them.

and if you want to be a player, you're going to have

Your absolutely right mate i was struggling with the low end distortion and didnt manage to tame it to my satisfaction .
I really like the tone i get on the middle strings though if i can just master the low end now . Time to revisit i think.

So is it a matter of how hot the signal is going in?
 
Not really its how the compressor is reacting to the low end.
I have improved that aspect now but it sounds a little too thin now so i need to think again.
Its way better but just seems to have sucked out the lows a little too much.
not sure i'm making my self understood or putting it very well but hey
I'm gonna try another tack and put an eq pedal between the zoom gfx5 and the amp. Maybe add a little more bottom end to the reverb signal.
 
Lol. I just played an awesome take on a song I'm working on with a tone I really liked and forgot to press record. :facepalm: :laughings:

I have a 100 watt Weber Michigan in my Mark V. I like it pretty good although i find it to sound pretty similar to a V30.
