No, but I did record Lassie for a dog food commercial one time!!;)

noisedude, not FatDog!

Some punk named Sir Riff back in 2001!

disappointing. bout Toto and fatlog. oh well, lassie's a good claim to fame, what mics did you use?

I've recorded Toto.
It was a long time ago, back in their hey-day.

I recorded them from LP to Cassette. :p

I don't own ANY Behringer gear. At all. Maybe I'm missing out? :(

But the numerous horror stories I've heard about the Eurodesk catching fire because of a faulty power supply was enough of a reason for me to stay clear of them.

I still say you're better off with a bank of nice vintage pres and a control surface.

i don't need you to respect me but i'd sure like you to leave and not come back!

hmmm. my first thread started world war III.

ok folks. 1800 views. 107 comments.....
i've seen it over and over again.

behringer is crap it sucks.

WHAT SUCKS.....no one (except maybe one poster so far) has bothered to explain what the problems were. which was my goal to beging with.

i respect you "experienced" people out there with years in the studio. you have forgotten more about this than i will ever know about recording music.

but here is the thing. i would love to have world class studio with a console with neve pre's., 3 hd24's linked to to proedit system. but it aint gonna happen.

"home recording" is what we can do with the equipment at home. I live way the hell out in the middle of no where new mexico. Realestically, i would have to travel nearly a thousand miles (round trip) to view two consoles side by side by comparison.

so, what i am trying to do is offer a SUBJECTIVE report on the operations of one console. i have been around broadcating since 1986 and have used many numerous broadcast and recording consoles for broadcast production work.

Now, i want to do music recording at home for fun. So, if you want an opinion other than "it's crap" read on

One consistent point made (with no clarification) is you will grow out of it right away. Well, if you purchase a smaller (6 channel board ie. 2 xlr, 2 stereo pair input) i would agree that you will eventually, maybe sooner than later, want to upgrade to more inputs. But, i took this into account and ordered a 16 channel input board, so i think i am set for a while.

i have now used the board as a live PA mixer for myself, and as a recording front end for a 4 track.

the recroding was of a live 1 man band thing, and the performer used wireless mike and guitar, so i got good strong feeds into the board. i then used it to mixdown the 4 trk to 2.

the routing capabilites of the board are really great. with the direct outs, insert points, 4 buss, stereo main, and 4 aux sends, you can really bounce things around.

during my live show, everything worked well on the board. i put aux send 1&2 in pre mode for monitor use. my performance was ran in true stereo to FOH. I went thru and set all the levels as recommended using the led VU metering. it sounded pretty good when it was all balanced out.

So far on the negative, i have only one problem, and one comment.

Probolem is the FX is noisy if you get above unity gain. But, the effects are very usable under that gain anyway.

I am still not sure i like the "SHELVING" eq they have used. i am more used to the frequency centerd type. Also, though, i beleive in getting it right the first time in recording (or producing) the correct sound into the board, so large amounts of eq should be unnecessary.

no fires or smoke. haven't scratched it yet or poured beer into it.

so far, it's lived up to my expecations.

hey man, we've had good fun on this thread, chessrock's sour milk chronicles will stay with me for a long time.

we all hope you enjoy your mixer and if you get 30 years of good operation out of it none of us will begrudge you that.

glad it's all going fine so far.

BTW - some of these guys really do have this equipment in their homes and even if they don't i'm quite happy to take their advice anyway.

That's right ...... the whole point of this thread is for radiorickm to report on how it goes with his board. It's his thread and he has the right to continue.
Those that hate Behringer should click on the 'unsubscribe from this thread link' and quit watching it. I mean ...... the point has been made so why keep repeating the "I hate Behringer" mantra?
Let radiorickm have his thread back and whoever is curious can see how it goes.

I had to toss the milk out . . . for anyone still interested.

Had company over.

To be fair, I think the milk had as large a claim on this thread as the mixer, so this thread is now at least 50% dead, and that should be enough to ward of most new posters.

Hey man, you can't just come in and hi-jack this thread ... that's been our job for the last 5 pages

Oh yeah? Well I say this thread's gotta die. Rat's I did it again.
