Oh crap. The files I got were all mono -
So were Giles original ones he posted, but it's just there appeared to be many tracks having 2 mono files- the L and R component of a stereo recording.

Hence why I was asking..... before we had L/R tracks for many sources, now we only have a single mono track for each source.

I just DL from raw tracks, and there are stereo files. I suggest everyone DL them from him, I don't know if they'll import or not, but dammit my modem is smoking from all the traffic going in and out over the last 48 hours.

I'll try and import them in a few andd post the results.

edit - I just pulled the files from my server.

Edit 2 - Raw tracks files won't import.

I just would like to stress, Please download one of the individual files and test it on your system before you go ahead and download all of the files. I need to try try to limit any "Wasted Bandwidth".

Originally all Mono Tracks and when I exported them as Interleaved Wav .. well you know BB

No go on the DL NL. Just hangs for me. Oh well. NL you should have received all Stereo files. Rawtracks received the same files you got except they were 16.48 I believe.

NL Looking at your screen shot. jazz Piano is stereo. The size of the file verifies that for me. Dunno what happened after you got them :)

So forth and so on. the smaller files are mono files the biggest files were stereo files

Dammittt....WTF. sorry. This is getting frustrating. I have yet to try to import the tracks into my Cubase system, but they work on my Samplitude and Sound Forge. This is crazy.

I'll try to take a closer look at the tracks sometime tonight and get to the bottom of this ultra-crazy situation.

I think we all need to just double check and make sure this isn't a 44.1kHz vs. 48kHz thing. My files are 48kHz, NL5's are 44.1kHz. Those that are having problems, have you made sure that your software is set on the proper sampling rate before importing the files? I don't think this should really matter, the files should import either way, just at the wrong speed. But it is worth double checking.

Wow this lack of import is tripping me out. So far it seems like a program specific problem. Oh for compatibility.

All I can say is i Love DP 4.5 I can import whatever whenever however why ever and it will automatically convert the file to the projects format.

RawTracks...

Definitely not a SR issue at my end......

Your files open in Sound Forge no problem, but they crash Cubase SX2 if I try to import them..... never seen this before.

I'm reprocessing them with SF Batch File Processor to see if it clears up any strange metadata issue.

I used SF Batch Processor to re-save the files, and now they work... must be some extra data in those files that SX 2 doesn't like.

Yep, same here - they open in SF just fine, but F Cubase all up. Something happened to the files I DL and then it looks like I compounded the problem. I converted all the raw tracks files fine, and now they import into cubase fine.

Although, i don't know if I have enough HP to run all the stereo tracks!

FOR THOSE USING RAW-TRACK'S FILES WITH CUBASE SX (SX2).......

- RawTracks versions appear to match Giles original tracks in terms of some being stereo and others mono.

- They load into Sound Forge no problem but will not work in Cubase SX 2 as is.

- Using the Sound Forge Batch Processor utility to re-save the files clears up whatever format issue there was and allows them to be imported into SX 2.

Happy mixing!

near as I can tell, the ad-lib file has sampler loop oinformation in it at the start, that's why some programs won't load it.

MUAHHAHAHAHHHAAA!

I'm on a full T1 in my Cisco class right now. :p

I'll let you guys know tonight whats up with the files.

Damn You!
Umm, does anybody know who I should get these files from so they will import into Sonar 2.2 without any problems? I won't really have a chance to download them again if there is a problem.. Thanks.

right....

I grabed mine about 17 hours ago from NL5. All mono files. IS this right ar were things tracked in stereo?

Anyway I gave up with the glitches in SX and imported them all into VST 24

Before I go any forther can someone confirm the tracks are all mono?

Here's a quick faders up, grouped the BknVox with a quick plate thrown on....nothing fancy just trying to get a feel and HOPEFULLY a word from the judges from PMC#4 if I might be on the right track this time or settin off on the road to 2nd last agian.

This reminded me a lot of lemonjelly...or Zero 7.....I'm using zero 7 (from memory) as a mix ref on this.

Am I on the right track?

Bruce, Giles, Bryan, GH.....anyone who had a listen to my last bizmal attempt, I'd be very thankfull

Alec.

Thanks for everyones time, so many systems, so many ooOO(idiot) mac users :D

NL5...that 48KHz version threw me...thought I was at the wrong speed!!!! LOL!

ack, it's not sample information, I got mixed up with something, but there's some kind of proprietary chunk at the start of the file. I"m thinking about writing something to strip it out, should I bother?

Ther files from NL will work with Audition.
Insert Audio
For file type use PCM Raw DATA
Select sample rate 44100
mono
resolution 16 bit

Also the files from giles and raw tracks work with Audition
do the same but sample rate is 48000
