An awesome sounding tune! It'll be a pleasure working with this one.. this is more my style!

One thing I notice is the level of the waves is very low.. the Fantasia track for instance has a peak amplitube of -24.7db, guess that shouldn't be any problem.

There is something seriously wrong with the quality of these files.

First thing is they seem far too small for WAV or AIFF for a song of any length - from the size alone they're more like compressed audio...

Second, they have practically no level to them - for example, the bass track barely registers on the meters.

Something is weird......

I'll check 'em out in the studio and report back.....

I don't have the greatest set of ears.. but they don't sound too bad. Heh.

I would like to say that I am realllly digging the instrumentals of this song. The rhodes and the piano are excellent. Is this a mic'd piano or a keyboard?

I wish I could download this to have a go.... Damn dialup :@

Would you want me to divide it up into smaller zips? You should be able to pull off 50mb a night.

OK,

All the individual zipped Wavs should be up on my site. I moved the last four over there this morning: Chrous Gtr.wav, Heaven Pad.wav, Jazz Piano.wav, Rhodes.wav.

You can find the files here:
http://raw-tracks.com/contest5/files/

If anyone is having trouble with the files on my server, please EMAIL ME .

Yeah, I might try downloading them from Eric's server or if I get time try at uni.

MUAHHAHAHAHHHAAA!

I'm on a full T1 in my Cisco class right now. :p

I'll let you guys know tonight whats up with the files.

I just downloaded all of the tracks from Raw-Tracks and I still can't get them to load into Audition. Is anyone else having a problem or is it just me?

The aiffs are on my server 16/44.1 For the Slower d/load clients

Hey Bruce. I dont cut hot when at 24bit. And the files are actual length. The compressions really brought them down. Some things only play in the 1st or 2nd verse so no need to make the soundbite from beginning to end, just beginning to when the sound no longer plays.

So you will see a lot of zeros where there was NO data during the merge. If I track 10 seconds of audio and then merged it from the top to where the audio ends you will get a small compressed file :)

The Piano is a Steinway D 9' Grand....Courtesy of Sir William Coakley... http://www.williamcoakley.com/piano.htm

Have Fun. Some of these tracks are really dirty. This was tracked in a back bedroom through a focusrite M-Box, then back at my place (before I built a Studio) in a hallway. All the vocals are my wife :) Bass was cut through an ART Tube MP. Or was it an Eden WT-800?? Dont really remember that one. I think it was the ART cuz it was convenient. :)

Ocnor -

The files on my server should open fine. They were converted to standard wav via SoundForge 6.0. They got downgraded a hair to 16/44.1 from 16/48. They still sound fantastic. These are probably the best quality we have had yet (although, not a fair comparison, because most of these are sampled)

Dont be fooled, samples can be a challenge. they tend to be a bit muddier than the real deal (IMO)
