Pop Filter any one?

Yeah, I switched to Stedman 101, which is almost like a real fine cheese grater. You absolutely can't kill them, and I think they scrub off a little less highs than a traditional nylon pop filter, but they are a little pricey- about $50.-Richie

Thats nice Richie

I can't believe you just agreed to send that moron a free handout.

Don't reward him like that.

ouch, hostility.... keep your head up jskillz89, and word to the wise...

when I saw Richard Monroe's offer (who also implied he had more than one pop filter that he had no use for)... I sent him a message asking if I could pick up one from him cheap, too....
he replied by saying he only wanted to part with one and you had already spoken for it, BUT if for any reason the deal with you fell through or was called off, that he would make the nylon pop filter available to me.... just know, you're not the only one looking for what you are looking for...

may your holidays, and all other days for that matter, be filled with warmth and compassion, no matter who what when where or why you are...

....peace and love

Well, Chess, I wish anything I had chosen to do would have been handled in PM's, and taken in the Christmas spirit. Nonetheless, I have communicated with this kid, and I'm convinced he's actually OK, but his language skills are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. I have seen him be respectful, and *try* to use proper punctation, syntax, and spelling.
Yes sir, I'm going to do even better than that. I've got some gear that I really don't use and never will, that isn't even worth selling, but is usable. MrQcue will love it...I got a Behringer mixer. Ha! We'll give him a perfectly good cheap dynamic and see if he can learn to rap, or read, or anything. The ball will be, as it always was, in his court. My mother made a modest living for forty years turning ignorant illiterate people into Rhodes Scholars. I'll be happy if the homeboy learns to spell so I can understand what I'm reading. But I am giving him a break, 'cause I want to see if he'll squander it or grow up. Only time will tell. -Richie

Check it out, dude- a capitalized proper noun with a properly placed apostrophe. You know, two words written properly can have more positive impact than a whole paragraph written really badly.
Well Blue Bear, I have to say the smart money's with you. I can tell you that for every Summa Cum Laude my mother made out of illiterate hicks, there were a dozen that drunk themselves to death, or went to Attica, or spent their lives milking cows and working on a tractor rhey couldn't read the manual for. The odds are always against change. But tell me this- how much am I put out? I don't see myself using an MXB 1002 anytime soon, or getting the big bucks for it. Ooh baby, what will I ever do without those Hosa patch cords I cut out of a snake? And this D2200, I don't even use as a talkback mic. Most of the stuff I'm looking at is something somebody gave me anyway. When Rimshot got interested in recording in New York, I sent him a pair of Behringer ECM8000's, a couple of good dynamics, and this same little board. He has since upgraded quite a bit. My time is worth more to me than the money I could get for this stuff if I pimped it out. I further swear on one of Mustafa's bombs that I'm unlikely to do recording with a Behringer mixer anytime soon.
Sorry Blue Bear, but trying to change the world, or people, usually *is* a failure. The Zen riddle is why it isn't a waste of time then. The answer is because it makes *me* better, and that's the only piece of the world I ever really had the power to change. Merry Christmas. -Richie

Oh hey - don't get me wrong - I'm not faulting you for making the donation.... but just from the attitude I've seen from him so far leads me to believe he'd neither appreciate your kindness nor make good use of any gear he's given.

I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it...

All the best for Christmas and the New Year Ritchie...!

Everyone is free to have there own opinion. Sometimes people say thing's they don't mean , or do thing's they don't mean. I've been talking to Richie , I think he kinda knows what I'm really like. Let me say, talking to him has made me , smarter , and more mature. One thing for sure , never judge a book by its cover. I may not have the best grammer , or know that much about recording like many people on this board. But I know what I like , and when I like somthing I stick with it , and give it my all. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Merry Christmas Blue Bear Sound. I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Basically, you (Richard) are Pavlov, and you just gave the salivating JSkillz a big 'ol doggie treat as a reward for his begging. He begs -- he gets a treat. He begs -- he gets treat.

So you see where there might be a negative pattern developing, here?

Maybe you feel that, somehow, over the internet you can play Professor Higgins to JSkillz' Eliza DooLittle, but I just can't help but think that might take a lot more than a free mixer and a slap on the wrist for using bad grammar.

Give a guy a fish, and he'll eat for a day . . . give JSkillz a pop filter and watch him try to eat that, too. :D

* Hugs Chessrock again *

Merry Christmas Chessrock. God loves you.

P.S
Try not to be a scrooge this holiday. Wheres the love?
I dont care what you think , your still cool Chessrock , and I respect you.

Well, you're right, Chess, but I have no hidden agenda. You could put it either way:

1. I'm a believer in operant conditioning. Well Duh! If you reward desired behavior, it is more likely the behavior will be repeated. What "a reward" is, may take a while to find out, but the definition is whatever makes a repeat of the desired behavior more likely. Yeah, I know that's circular, but it works.

2. If I can convince Skilz to learn to read and write proficiently, Chessrock, I will have handed him the biggest fishing net there is!
It doesn't matter *why* he reads. If he does, he'll become smarter and gain knowledge. He may only become a better thug, but who knows? As long as he tries to learn to write and be respectful, I'll help him in small ways. All I did was point out to him that if he wants to be a recording artist, or a producer, or anything that counts for anything, he'll have to deal with people who will ignore his ass if he speaks and writes like a dumbass illiterate homeboy. In about three days, Skilz has shown effort and wisdom. If he doesn't feel like he's under attack, he'll listen.

Skilz, sorry to be talking about you in the third person, like you aren't here. I'm just defending you a little because I know when somebody is *trying* to be more than they are. You have to beware of cynicism here. That's when people see only the dark possibilities of life. They win a lot of their bets, but it can keep them from writing too many happy songs.-Richie

I get what your trying to say. No problem man. I see what your saying , Richie. :D

Well , about Chessrock.
Just because I have some slang In my vocab , does not mean I'm headed In the wrong direction. It's the people I've hung around with , and i pick up bad habbits. For all you know , I could actully be a intelligent kid , who chooses to act and speak the way I do, Chessrock. I don't see where Chessrock has the right to judge me. Only God can judge me. Chessrock you are speaking on a issue , you are unsure of. You don't know me , or how I act in real life. Do you know the real me? No. So how dare you judge my future , or debate on me.

Thanks again

jskillz89, I do wish the complimentary treasures help you get to where you want to be, or helps you be able to see the places you want to see, and go wherever you wish to go, but one can be an ultimately good or ultimately evil individual, and it is what you choose to show others is what counts... otherwise, you can abuse an animal (and it's trust in companionship, it's inherent impartial nature, or it's willingness to accept what it feels at face value) and say, you didn't mean (to cause harm), you can change, you are better than that, so why care..? do you know why?

because there is always the possibility of life passing by in the span of an instant, and what you never did won't ever matter...

...get busy living or get busy dying...
