Seriously though - think about it. You do owe Bob an apology without anyone telling you to do so. Just man up.
I see what you're saying, but in the final analysis I do think human perception is the measure when we're talking about how something sounds because we're talking about how something sounds to humans of course.![]()
oh you don't have to argue in favor of perceptions with me....i spent many posts arguing for that with ethan and a few others not too long ago! :d
see...no one would have issue with tm saying something like "i love analog, for me, nothing sounds better".....etc...etc. Here in the analog forum. I mean, this is where all the analog guys say that and talk about that.
Thing is, he's the one who was picking a bone over the "distortion" thing from the other thread. He took offense with john willet mentioning that he preferred digital because analog had some degree of "distortion"...as in, a change of the original signal.
So if he's going to toss audio terminology around, he can't change it's meaning as he personally "hears it". He took the position that because he wasn't hearing it, john had no proof that there was any with analog audio.
Now tm has been back-peddling in this thread as it has evolved.
Afa as perception...that's a different angle, and i'm all for talking about how our perception molds/changes our decisions and why any perception is valid if it leads us to something better/imporved...etc...though yes, it's all subjective.
Post up some of that audio you say you have.....all I found was some MP3 files of drum solos you did back in 2000.
I would like to hear some distortion free analog audio.![]()
That said, be careful that your perceptions are genuine, not some kind of placebo effect.
Ok I will try my best to do that ASAP miroslav![]()
I get the concern...but I feel that even placebo is OK *if it leads to something better*. I mean, when they give sugar pills to someone and it helps....it's a good thing in the end.
Of course, the danger is that it can also lead to misconceptions that result in a worse end-product...so it's a trail-n-error thing, finding out what kind of "mojo" works for you or against you.
Don't rush....just figured you had plenty of time since 2000 to lay down some more tracks besides the drums.
I mean, you're the one that said you had all these great recordings with "no audible distortion".
Although I record on digital(standalone recorders) more than analog at the moment, but they seem to frown on that method of recording also![]()
No, we don't.
Thanks but I think they hate me there.......
Or maybe they just don't like the way his ones and zeros are arranged.Maybe they just don't understand you......
