Hey guys, check out some of my stuff on my PureVolume website. Just looking for some feedback. Tell me what you think of the recordings, and actually, the songs. You dig them? No? Let me know.....tear it up fellas.

Mixes were great, sound was commercial.

Backing Vocals in track two were off pitch.

Track three had some great guitar sounds and stereo spread.

I'd give you a contract without hesitation.

Thanks, lumbago. Yes, the second track sucks vocal wise. All the vocals are getting redone soon, and the third track was done on monday night. The guitars were actually a small Marshall VS15 1x8" combo, mic'd with a 57. Turned out muuuuch better than I had originally expected. Keep the feedback coming.

From where I'm listening, there are some somewhat glaring mix issues here, but I'll wait to go into more detail until I'm at home on my main rig.

Cool tunes, meaty guitars and riffs. You remind me of my own style a bit, but your style is a little heavier. i like the snare on track 3, sounds like the deftones snare a bit.
You could maybe bring it up a bit in the mix same with the kik.
You might like this song of my bands.

OK, after listening to the first song at home, I'd say it's not as bad as I first thought, but there are still some things to look into. The mix as a whole seems overall seems overly bright, notably the guitars and cymbals. Performance is pretty good, and the songwriting is there. Vocal performance seems a little shakey at times, but not terribly bad. I like some of the arrangement things.
I think the only thing that's really bothering me is the guitar tone. Too much gain, not enough mids. Smiley face EQ doesn't necessarily make for heavier sounding guitars in the context of a mix. Address those things, and you'd really have something.

Thanks for the input fellas.

My monitoring situation sucks. The room I'm in is terrible at the moment and even I have noticed things are overly bright. As far as the guitar tones go, the first track (Abandon), was done totally POD, which I never usually like to do anyway, and the vocals on it suuuuck, lol. The guitars and the vocals both happened at about 4 in the morning so I was in a more "get r done" state of mine. My mic'd JCM is going to replace those guitars and the VOX are getting redone. The second track's guitars just need to be re-EQ'd. Again, monitoring issue, I had to mix through headphones. The third track is just a demo. The drums on this track are samples in Fruity Loops v3. LOL. The samples I used were samples I made from my Ludwig 5 piece. Just thought you might want to know whats up with the recordings. Thanks again.

ecktronic, I like your stuff, has a definate Incubus feel to it. The recordings have a cool live aura about them. Just need to be mixed a bit tighter. BTW, your bassist kicks, and the vocals are really cool. Keep it up man.
