I think the second leave you with more room... Remember in the first the panel is 8" from the wall.technominds said:I know the second would be best, but the first is much easier and leaves me with alot more room in the booth.
Im going to to the wall behind the mic entirely from fabricated rockwool and then the wall behind me the same.
The side walls and ceiling im going to tile with foam.
Im going to have to add rubber seals on the door and caulk up a little more because isolation seems to be minimal at the moment, im guessing once the rockwool is in, that may help also.
What angle is the soffit? It looks 45 degrees. Shouldn't it be 60?technominds said:started building the right corner soffit
You gonna fill this with clothes? I think you should make the door like a broadband trap... Either that or have it quite thin.technominds said:storage cabinet nearly complete

the front 4 lights (which will be over the desk) are wired down to a dimmer which will be mounted onto the desk so i can control the lighting without having to get off my seat =]

technominds said:would it be an idea to put in some covered insulation around the speakers?
Supercreep said:I record in a 9.5' x 14' room, and when it was dead I hated the sound. I would up pulling half the foam off and now it's ugly - but it sounds good. It was 2" auralex.
Go for LF and broadband absorbtion, but if you kill all the HF you will be sorry.
A ittle bit goes a long way for HF absorbtion.
Looking great, and yeah covered insulation. Did you read up on soffits much? I don't know a great deal...technominds said:on go the front panels to the soffits
and the desk is almost complete
im really happy with how its turning out!

And what speakers you got, the warfdales and what?
What about a cloud? Is it possible to do any more corners(angles)? It looks great. Love the tv. That dip in thee desk don't look to great though. Maybe put in MDF, vertically, below it, if you know what i mean.technominds said:Lack of progress due to easter, but im now back on track =]
Up goes the TV on a wallmount.
Wired up the front lights on the seperate dimmer
Finished off the soffits, just need to put in some hinges.
Skirting all down.
I collected my rockwool today, and i way over ordered.. ive got 20 panels of 4x2.
I think im going to make 7 panels,
2 for first reflection,
2 for the rear wall,
2 for the side/ceiling angles
1 for the rear wall/ceiling
Then im going to have to build a small frame to hold my 15inch TFT monitor in the booth, and then surround it with fabricated rockwool. On the rear wall of the booth im going to screw in two pieces of timber at the top and bottom, and then let the fabric hold in all the rockwool.
