Yeah and i bet that greg dude will be going right along with me. He was the first one to use the f word. Shame, Shame.....

Yup, but it wasn't directed at anyone. I didn't fire any obsceneties at anyone. I've been a good boy. Nice try though.

Greg has shown uncommon restraint in trying to mollify this guy. I don't know what more anyone could do, short of kissing the OP's ass. And that will never happen.

Don't bother replying, OP. I can't see your posts.

Hey Miro, how many guitars do you have?

Counting my electrics, acoustics & basses....19....plus a sitar and a pedal steel.

Yes...it's a sickness. :)
And...I even sold a couple this winter, but am now looking at maybe getting another Tele, if I can find what I want (double bound, thinline, w/single coils and a maple neck), which doesn't look promising, so I may end up going the Warmoth route and just building my own, which is becoming an appealing alternative. It's not going to be a stock Fender, but it will be a better quality guitar, overall, and will cost less than a custom shop Fender.

No...I don't *need* this many guitars (I could probably get by with 5-6) but I'm a sucker for guitars, and I do play all of them in turn when called for. I mean, most are unique in some way, either the type of PUs, or the scale length, or the body (semi or solid), except for my 4 vintage Swedes, which are pretty much identical except for the colors.

Why do you ask.....? :D

No reason. I just remember seeing pics of your studio and truly being blown away by how much serious stuff you have. You and whitestrat probably have the nicest home studios at this site that I know of. Your wall of guitars is like something in guitar center. :D

You should seriously consider commissioning Muttley to build you a hollow body tele. I'm sure you've given it thought already.... :D

..and what does "double-bound" mean??

Yes...WhiteStrat has a very nice setup, I wish I had his carpentry skills. While my desk and racks are well built, and super-heavy duty, I didn't have the patience and skill to put a furniture-grade finish on the wood...but I still like my painted look.

Thanks for the props.
The wall of guitars really was an idea I got from looking at music store guitar racks, and the hardware is the same (String Swing). I was trying to make the best/most use of the space I have.
The entire studio was/is a labor of love, and the gear was acquired over a long time, though there were a couple of large bulk purchases. I've been constantly selling/buying/upgrading.
I'm not wealthy, but I am single with no dependents and my day gig pays well. I've been unemployed and kinda' poor too in my younger days.
If I didn't have the studio...well...it keeps me out of trouble. ;)

This is the picture you must be talking about:

Muttley and I have butted heads on technical stuff...not sure if he would care to build me anything, :D ...and I've never really seen any of his work. Does he have a website...? Besides, I though his main focus was acoustic guitars.

Double-bound is binding on both the top and bottom of the guitar body edges.

Here's a pic: TelecasterGallery - DBTOC (Double Bound Telecaster Owners Club)/Rustler Group-500

Lol, Muttley butts heads with most everyone, but it's only a forum, can't put much credence in internet arguments.

A year or so ago, he posted some pics of a tele style guitar he built for someone (I think in the New Rep Point thread, you'd have to search). It was so beautiful that he built one for himself. If I ever hit the lottery.....

I put a song up in the mp3 clinic. Tear it up guys. Just remember you might not like how heavy i play. Death metal is just my thing. Also i mixed it on headphones since my kids are in bed. thanks............

:laughings:

Man...I step away for a few hours and this shit is still going on.

The "selling of gear" was an inside joke (not for you), but since you puffed up your chest about your 52 Tele...
...trust me, I've got more gear than you can imagine, so while I do love Tele guitars, your 52 Tele isn't something I'm going to get too hard over.
I have a studio full of really nice stuff, and you would soil yourself with excitement if you stepped inside it...though I think you've already done that in this thread.

I remember seeing my first pictures of your stuff Miro and I pissed myself dry!

You could have tried half a dozen new techniques and been several steps further on your quest for superb drummage in the time you've spent arguing with Greg and Jimmy and miro and RAMI.... etc. etc. or do you use this as a primer to get into the zone and flay like a madman for your DM drums?

Not trying to brag...honestly, but even to this day I walk into my studio and go...ahhhhhhhhh.
There are certainly better studios that I drool after, but I don't worry about ever turning a profit in my studio or off my music, or trying to please/impress anyone with the music that comes out of my studio. I do what I want. This is just my place, part hobby, part part sanctuary and mostly a place to lose myself.

Some guys spend a fortune on classic cars, expensive vacations or some other hobbies/interests...for me it's recording music and having the best studio I can imagaine...and afford. It's an endless project.

Now...I would like to see your mic collection!
I'm sure you have a serious stash working! :)

You consider that "heavy playing" and "Death Metal" music...???
Sounded more to me like typical radio Pop.
Where do you hear "Death Metal"...?

And since you made such a big deal about drums in this thread...I have to say, the drums in that song sound almost sequenced, kinda sampled and quantized. It's like you went out of your way to make them robotic and homogenized.
They're tight and on the beat...but IMO, missing some organic body, fatness and 3D vibe...
...but that's how I like drums...YMMV.

Oh...I guess I should have posted this in the MP3 Clinic.
I just rarely go there...been meaning to make more regular visits.

Don't worry offcenter, I once asked these groupie mofo bitches how much compression they use on a final mix. They were like only a teeny bit, so I said fuck you assholes, let me in on the big secret none of you are telling me; they just got pissed and ganged up on me too

...let me in on the big secret none of you are telling me...

:D

"big secret"...?

So did you ever find out what that "big secret" is?
Why do you guys think that people who know how to do something are all intentionally keeping it secret?
There are no secrets. There are hundreds of audio/recording books written by pros, telling everything...just like there are dozens of audio/recording forums like this one where people openly share all kinds of info.
There are no secrets.
Maybe you can't figure something out, or things are not working for you like you expect them...but there are NO secrets. :laughings:

Oh...and when they told you that they only use a teeny bit of compression on a final mix....that's correct.
You can check that on other audio sites. Most guys will barley move the needle 1-2dB when compressing a stereo mix. Much harder than that, and the music will be pumping and wheezing all over the place.

Now limiting...that might be a different story...but still, there ain't no real secrets.

Wait! I've got a secret. And one day I will rule the world with it! Mahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Although the forum made me swear an oath of secracy, I will reaveal the amount of compression to use. It's........42!
