I use Linux, and all the software I use is free, as in freely available.
sparadiddle said:What software do you use on Linux? I dual-boot win2k and Fedora, but the only audio software I use on Linux is CDParanoia Csound, and Audacity (Csound and Audacity both run on Mac and PC too). I haven't looked for a while...is there anything like N-Tracks, Sonar, Acid or FruityLoops that runs on Linux?

makes sense doesnt it?

This site's the most comprehensive list for linux audio apps out there.
Since you're already running Fedora, you'll probably want to check out PlanetCCRMA, which is what I have running on top of RH9 on my system.
Currently, most of my work gets done with:
Ardour - multitracking audio recorder
Rosegarden - MIDI sequencing/composition/notation
QSynth - softsynth that uses GM and GS soundfonts
Hydrogen - programmable drums a la Fruity Loops.

by having me using their software for free it can even b an advantage for the company, because if i'm good at what i do for a hobby i could become a professional, and certainly would pay for their software once i use it for my work..
makes sense doesnt it?
