The local dentist just...........gave me his Sony TC-366 quarter-track reel to reel, and his stash of about 40 reels of record album compilations on tape. Stuff recorded from the mid 60's to late 70's. Turns out the dentist is a pretty hip guy
.
The deck needs a bit of work, as it has some pretty severe wow and flutter problems, and now it doesn't have enough tork to sustain 7.5 ips, but i'm gonna get it fixed here pretty soon.
Before the deck crapped out on me, I did have a chance to just sit back and listen to 3 or 4 of those tapes..............Led Zeppelin III, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and several other random artists I've never heard of before. I'm REALLY GLAD I'm getting this kind of music exposure. This has really opened my ears to the heart and soul of music, the way it was, and now what I believe the way music should be. It's art, not a sterilized strucural form.
There's my 2 cents.
As soon as the dentist (his name is Dr. Burton) finds his reel to reel ALBUM albums, he's gonna let me have those too.
Can't wait.
