Looking at maybe adding a couple more compressors to my rack. I see the new tapco sq2 is selling at around $130.00. has anyone tried this out?

Would be using it mainly for tracking drums and bass guitar. Mostly drums though.

Let me know if you've had your hands on one. Other wise I'll just go with a couple 266Xl's

I use one for live sound and it works as well as the dreaded 3630 or cheap behringer, in fact I like it a bit better than both. My guess is that it would not be too special on bass and be ok for light comp/limit on drums. I see it as a utility piece where you get what you pay for. I do rather like the layout and apparent build quality - way above the behry.

Thanks Ape32. Good to know. I have a Dbx project 1 266 comp/gate and it seems to work well for pretty heavy compression on Kick and snare. I see the 266xl is only $160 vs $130.00 for the tapco. I might step up to something a bit better than either.. Just hoping the tapco was killer for the price:) Sounds like it's good for the price at least though.

Thanks
