Ok, this is a cover of Sarah Mclachlan's "Angel" performed by of course by a female vocalist. My sole involvement was the recording of the vocals and mixing.
"Angel" 192Kbps MP3
This was the first take. Subsequent takes after that never captured the same emotion.
What do you think of the...
This is the intro for a song I recorded this weekend. I only did the recording, not the playing. Any feedback or critique on the recording is welcome!!

I think I already have one, one of the older Studio Projects B1's. It is kind of a brighter mic, where the C414 XLR is darker. But is there something better out there that compliments the 414, as in provide an alternative when the 414 is too dark?
Thanks

I just scored a really great deal on a Trident 4t Channel Strip. After having researched it, it apparently has the exact preamp and compressor from the Trident S20/S40 chanels (the compressor on the 4t is a bit more limted, control wise).
Sound quality-wise, where does this preamp rate in the...
Here are a couple more tracks that I recorded last week, please let me know what you think. The band is called Assyria.
This first starts out nice and melodic, and has a really nice transition in the middle. It was pretty fun to mix...
I recorded four songs for a band called "Assyria" the other day.
This is the first track that is getting close to a finished mix.
Any feedback on it?

Is it as easy as hooking a speaker cable to the input jack of the cab, and measuring the ohms across the end of the cable with a multimeter, or am I missing something?
Here is an an acoustic instrumental that I recored this weekend. I didn't play the guitar, only did the recording.
What do you think?

Looking for feedback on the recording end of things....
I finally got my main tube amp head into the shop to get fixed. It had what turned out to be some blown caps. I also bought some new power tubes and had them put them in bias it while they had it.
Anyways, it sounded so sweet to me, I decided to do some guitar tone tests and see what you guys...
The monitors are Tannoy Proto-J's, 6.5" drivers. The Power amp is an Alesis RA-100. I figure they are worth around $300 together. I got them because I had a semi-permanent recording set up at a second location, which I no longer have.
Any trades? I could use an Art MPA or other stereo preamp...
Anyone out there who has been looking for a good deal on DAW software, or wanting to try Cubase, MF has the SE version for $39 bucks as it's "Stupid Deal of the Day".

It is usually $99. It supports 48 audio tracks, and unlimited MIDI...
Ok, I being a guitarist I have my own favorite guitar tone, that I am (periodically) happy with. I like to think I am pretty good at getting some nice heavy guitar tones.
But sometimes I get bands in here that I know are looking for a certain type of modern metal sound, and I've never really...
Spent some time recording with a Audix D6 on a kick drum this weekend. I usually use a Shure Beta 52. I figured I would post and see what you guys thought...
Sample recording is a little over a minute of drums only...
Hey, my 1,000th post!!
We haven't found the right drummer or singer, but we are trying to work on new stuff, so we will be ready once we get a complete band together. This is meant to be a 'song concept', basically working out an idea that we can record later as a full band when we have one...
I have to say, I was really impressed. The guy was plugged straight into it, with a lower end shecter guitar and a Seymour Duncan SH-6 in the neck, and some kind of coil-splittable duncan humbucker in the bridge. He was getting some amazing tones out of it. Everything from super heavy, full on...
