Here's a few of mine. I JUST got it done. I ordered some more sound enhancing products for next week and I can't WAIT to get them and put them in. But it's getting there!!!

I've been coming here for a while now and don't really post much, but feel free to provide some feedback.

Thanks everyone!!!

I'm not sure if uploading this picture is working, but here goes...

Looks great! And great to hear from another St. Louisan! Whearabouts are you? (I know--my profile says Waterloo, but I'm from St. Lou and still work and hang out there...)

Dude... you have GOT to share some details, bro! Start a build thread if AT ALL possible! My goal is to have a studio very close to yours once I finally graduate college and get a house! :)

Also, bro, do you have a layout of your rooms? Looks like a larger live room, control room, and maybe a vocal booth type deal. Absolutely awesome for a home studio! Or even one around town. Nice!

Brandon

That's just down right pretty shaunmc! You obviously have an eye for design.
The color combo is great. Very nice setup. I am working on mine still. Can't wait to finish it.

I'll jump on the bandwagon - beautiful studio!

I've come to this forum as an ambitious amateur. I hope to make some awesome demos for myself but do not realistically plan on making one cent from my home studio. My eyes get big looking at the pics of your set up.

If you don't mind me asking, how "professionally" do you use your studio? (I mean, do you have a high paying day job and this is your obsession/hobby? Do you rent out your home studio on the weekends? Is this a full time project studio?) Sorry if you're famous and I'm asking a dumb question - I'm new to the forum. :)

Thanks for sharing the pics.

I don't have any current pictures. I've made some major changes but this is pretty much the way it looks.
The top and middle pictures are the console in the control room and the bottom is in the tracking room.

Do you Mix rap vocals?

Finally Finished For Now

I was waiting to post in this thread until I completed my home studio and finally got it to a place where I am stopping for now. I am amazed at some of the studios you guys have, but here is my humble space. The progress thread can be seen here with before and after pics. The following are the final pics and comments from my last post in that thread.

--------------------------------------

Finally got these pics off the camera and on the computer and wanted to post the final images. I am sure there will always be stuff to do, but for now I am finished with my home studio until I start cranking some songs out and actually record again

Control Room

I ended up plugging the windows with fabric covered 703, getting some MoPads for my monitors, hung the maroon velvet curtain behind my desk (mostly for looks but if it provides anything else then great! :P), hung some more stuff, got the standing floor lamps, lava lamp, used some more accessories, etc, Most of the accessories came from Ikea (couch, floor and table lamps, end table, magazine rack, candy holders, dry erase thingy, maybe more...)

Here is the finished control room as you walk into it.

The cabinet opens up to my work area (9-5 job) with my laptop, phone, etc.

A better look at the couch (it folds out into a bed - pretty cool) and my faux fur rug ~

Acting as my other end table I have this Meinl Headliner Series Cajon and another cool item, a Pearl Shekere

Live Room

Basically have my stuff set up now to record. My main mic stands up for vocals and then I have the smaller stand for when I record acoustic or electric guitar. I also have the very cool Tranzport Wirerless DAW Controller which I have fallen in love with and works well for my set up.

And my comfy guitar playing chair (with no arms yea!)

I run my mic cords to my snake that runs to my control room

I swapped the fluorescent lights out for some track lighting

That's pretty much it. Thanks for all of the advice and suggestions along the way, I look forward to making some recordings in it someday soon!

Any comments/questions are welcome ~

hey cincy, very nice looking space to work man. I'm looking forward to hearing what comes out of that space in future.

Just had a house move and designing/building a new space as we speak so I'm about a month away from completion  wish it was sooner.

Here's what i work with in my little corner at home. Im still playing with the position of the monitors.

Man everything looks brand spanking new!:) Hasn't even taken the paper of the acoustics pickguards yet!:D

Where did you get that platinum Cake record!?!?!?!?!? Can I have it? :D

NewHeights,

Looks like you might have overabsorbed in the high and high mids.... you might want to trap bass with some thick 703 in one of the corners..otherwise, your room might sound too dead and have funny bass frequencies muddying up things.

Hard to tell from the photo, though. It's a nice looking space!

I got the Pre-amps in and mounted, so it's finally time to update this thread. :) here's the home studio after the remodel. (Sound room really hasn't changed... much)

Very nice, eyeteeth. Very nice indeed.

Question for you you--I'll be building my own desk in the near future, and I'm working on a design very similar to your desk. Do you find the gear in the angled section under the shelf easy enough to reach & work with?

It looks like 7 rack spaces there, right? Then a few spaces on the flat surface on either side of the mixer?

Correct seven spaces in the slanted area. Depending on your physical dimensions... the top two to three spaces are a bit of a reach. (I'm 5-7) If you notice, my AD/DA converters and my power conditioners occupy those spaces. Things I'm not going to be reaching for.

The Space is very comfortable now, and i really enjoy spending time here... it's my happy place again.

eyeteeth, with those racks right on top of one another, dont you worry about heat issues? I know a few peices of gear I have say to leave a space between.
