Its a well known fact the colour Red is better for studios as it absorbs more sound than colours from the other end of the spectrum such as blue - helps with the room treatment.

That's a myth, of course. Well, not a myth exactly but the color you paint the room will not make any measurable and certainly no audible difference acoustically.
I'm pretty sure everybody knows this already...just making absolutely sure.

I thought so, but I wanted to be sure. I've heard everything from "electromagnetic acoustical spheres" to "bass trapping crystals", so I always err on the side of caution.

Bass trapping crystals need to be at a 3:1 aspect ratio from your lava lamps or they'll cancel each other out...
Unless your room is Red, then you can usually get by with 2:1

Well I finally got a digital Camera and got to take a few pics of my place I built about 2 years ago. It has finally fleshed out a bit. It has a main room a vocal booth a drum booth andan assortment of storage rooms and a rest room.
I love it anyway, an personally I think it sounds excellent too.

Actually I have.
I do it all the time for groups who want to play in the same room, or for when I have time to track all the drum parts to a demo or album.
When recording just drums I can get a set of room mics going about 30 feet away and get some nice natural reverb going. It has a pretty short tail and is not very dense, but it adds some welcome depth to the sound.
The drum booth is about 11 by 10, and really sounds great as well.
It is nice to be able to tweak the kit and mic placement, then leave it alone where I can record at my own pleasure.
I have been doing some collab tracks at recording projects.com that have been enjoyable.

Looks good...take a second look at the monitor placement though. Looks too wide...preferences vary, of course.

Yeah, having them on the desk in front of me kills my ears with bass and gives me a pretty bad stereo image on a mix. This config keeps the bass in check for my room and provides a VERY ACCURATE image for my mixes. I thought the same thing, but was recommended by someone who's been in the industry for 20+ years.
