My signal chain will be like this:
Microphones -> Audio Buddy -> 2496
The audio buddy is 2 channels with 2 1/4" outputs...so I have 2 mics hooked up to it.
So I could get 2 1/4" - RCA cables and hook them straight into the 2496?
Well I'm trying to avoid buying anything right now because I'll have the 2496 pretty soon.
Just to make sure, the 2496 can accept 2 RCA inputs at once, right? So, I could record 2 tracks at once with 1/4" to RCA cables straight into the 2496?
I ordered an Audiophile 2496, but it won't be coming until around Christmas time or a little after. So until then, I'm stuck with a SoundBlaster Live 24-bit.
I want to record 2 tracks at once (a stereo recording of guitar). I'm not concerned about quality, just want to try it out. I have an...
I'm about to convert a mixdown of one of my songs to MP3, and was just curious about the difference between stereo, joint stereo, and dual channel?
I'm using dBpowerAMP.
Thanks.
Before mic placement, I'd get the amp out from whatever it's buried under first. That's probably why it sounds muddy.
Recording with a mic in combination with DI is common for both guitar and bass. If you have 2 channels you could record them at the same time, or you could also record them...
If you can't find anyone who's used them, I would just spend the money on a well-known brand that makes good mics.
They have samples on their website, but they didn't sound that good to me, but the one I listened to also had a guitar in there and maybe it was the way they mixed it. The drums...
I'd have to disagree with most of this.
Never get a clean signal with a PCI card? Some cards do make some noise because of interferance with other parts in the computer, but well built cards don't, at least not to the point where it's audible.
You mentioned you don't have a preamp...
Post a mixdown of what you have so far, not seperate tracks.
Also, here's a good (and short) tutorial on EQ which covers what's already been discussed in this thread, but it's explained well and makes things easy to understand...
Yea, but unlike analog, you can just copy one disk to another over and over and not have to worry about degradation.
So in 10 years, copy the old CD-R to a new one and that'll give you another 10 years.
Also I've heard a lot of tape mediums have a much shorter life span, unless you store it in...
I would agree. VSTi's, or samplers, store all their samples in memory. Once they're there, it doesn't take a lot of CPU to run.
Real-time effects, especially reverb and chorus, take up a lot of CPU because their performing calculations in real-time.
2.4GHz seems like plenty of CPU power for...
What's wrong with his technique?
And who rates a guitarist based on technique more than the emotion they put into their playing?
Some people may be able to shred through scales at 300bpm but I'd rather hear a musician play with emotion over someone with perfect technique any day.
I'm not a huge Santana fan, but lack of skill?
Let's hear you play something better than Santana, then you can have the right to say that, but you'll still be a dumbass to say he lacks skill.
