Just listened for the first time and I like it. I don't have any good analogies like the other guys except it seems to me like a good 30 min song if you wanted it to be, you know like the allman bros would do. Just keep goin, you know a jammin' song... thus the teaser sax at the end.. next the harp from your bro maybe.. the guitar from Randy... Good stuff man.

Kenny;

:cool: Some cool jammin going on there. Nice musicianship. Mix sounded great on my puter speaks.

Yeah, this one's much nicer, much smoother. I'd love to hear this one with vocals at some point - nothing too lyrical - maybe just some tight three part harmonies singing the same figure a few times.

Really nice.

Now about this so-called 'zigzag' you speak of sir... To what or whom might that reefer?

A definite 80's feel. I don't really like the solo synth sound. The hammond-like thing in the background is more to my liking, I guess. Frankly, I don't get that much from this. Sounds too much like the 80's pop I despise. It brings me horrible memories of those crappy 80's comedies :D so I can't blame you, it's me and my flashbacks :D

I appreciate the listens, advice, and nice comments from all you good folks. I didnt have any plans for this but I do now, for later on with beefier instruments. It was just a junk jam on a feelin and not my usual thinkin.
after posting the first time I realized it was a "scare the dogs off the porch" mess and I was "slacking off" and should have been scorched well for it, although some great ears hinted at it :) . I went back and quickly cleaned it up best I could, added a shaker and an egg (after listening to dobro's thing) to give it a little more continuity. There`s still a tom lick I dragged at 14:5 that made me late at 16:5 on a bass note that really really bothers me, but it washed fairly well, so I just left it. I have no aspirations of anything other than this is just all fun and more learning about recording and mixing for me, here with you folks. Well..., except I thought after reading Cranky`s post I might pitch it for a "Laverne and Shirley" or "Movin' on Up" episode. :p

Sounds good Kenny. Maybe a bit more percussion? I like that ride at 1:10 ish coming out of the right. Warm..

Tom
