Hows the drums sound? I know there's not much to them, but I did things a little differently on this one.
 
It rocks! Nice attention to detail vis-à-vis the original. Drums sound fine.

I've read stuff about doubling the snare track and compressing one of them, so thats what I did. I also heavily gated the compressed snare track for pure "pop" and mixed it low with the normal snare. I tracked the drums with different mic positioning from normal as well. Nothing major, but I'm a detail nazi and changing stuff around makes me wary.

I'm still using just 4 mics...as my playing is where I lack the most...:o

Your drums sound pretty fine to me man...:D

Hey Greg,

I don't know this song but once again I love the guitar tone especially the guitar that comes in during the chorus/pre-chorus. Your back up vocals are great. Nice tight playing and the mix sounds great on my system.

The debt they have to the ramones is really clear isn't it?
Good job as usual Greg. If this was 1/2 faster again it'd be at Radio Birdman tempo which would make for interesting listening.

Thanks Ray. Yeah these guys definitely draw a lot of influence the Ramones and old punk. Nothing wrong with that! :D
 
Don't know the original but I like this version. Good mix and performance. The snare has a definite snap + thud combination that, while clear, is not harsh. Cymbals are nice and Crispy :). Good mixing overall.....

Nice job Greg. Everything is really crisp and clear, I dug it.
I really like the guitar tone, not too much gain and nice and meaty.
