ya'll will all be surprisedbut although i'm aware of all of these bands ...... I've never really inmvestigated them.
Lots of albums suggested here for me to explore!

ok ..... how do I convert a wave file to an MP3?

I'm do very little on the puter as far as music programs. All I have are the things that come with the puter ... nero .... Windows media player .... that stuff.
In the past I've burned things to CD and just put it in the puter which automatically uploaded it as MP3 files.
But I'm tired of burning CDs and throwing them away for that purpose so I'm gonna use my DR-05 to transfer them.
I just loaded a file in I was gonna post but it's a wave file and 34 m. How do I convert it OR how do ya'll do that black screen player thingie if that'll play bigger files.

I don't know what windows you're using, but you can right click on the wav and select "covert audio format". From the window select MP3 and whatever bitrate you want it at. Tell it to save to your desktop or wherever you wan it. The windows converter aint great but it'll do.

From there you can upload it into HR, or use Dropbox, which is what most of us seem to use. It's a free host that you need to sign up for and download the little program.

I'm thinking that you must have some sort of plugin or app installed that adds that functionality, I've never known that to be a native Windows thing. Unless you're on Win 8, maybe that's a thing on the new OS.

Any more I just use Reaper for converting .wav to .mp3 (after going through the annoying initial step of downloading and linking Reaper to the LAME codec). But if I were to try it now, I'd Google around and find a wav to mp3 converter. And I wouldn't grab anything off of Download.cnet.com, after someone here posted a link to the most terrifying investigation into their practices of bundling horrible malware with their downloads. I'm no alarmist but damn, that's just frightening!

I saw the Cure twice, once in a pub just after their 1st or 2nd LP and then in a concert venue for the Pornography tour. The 1st was amazing - they were still a little punkish with a fairly clean guitar sound and the 2nd was Goth to the max with heavy metal guitars - boring!
Axle exploded the spandex world and went into bike pants!
The The had one, maybe 2 good songs and plenty of good videos - they were all the way with MTV.
I saw the Stranglers around the time of the No More Heroes album - my fav. lP of theirs too, they were great in concert.
How about Dr Feelgood - Wilko's guitar tone was pretty weird but the combo were really good - saw them just once.
I can't remember the guitar sound for Cheap Trick in the early 80's - they used synths for white noise off stage & the bassist (playing a 12 string bass ) did a 3 min SOLO!!! Seeing them lived killed them for me.

Really? That's weird. I'm using a 10yr old windows XP machine and that function has always been there. Maybe it is part of some package that I'm not aware of. I don't use it as a converter, but I know it's there on my machine. I just assumed it was a regular thing. Sorry for the bad advice Lt!

So yeah, download some freeware converter. I usually use LAME through Reaper, but you're not a DAW guy, so find a freebie.

I think it's cool that Marshall has finally released a Jubilee re-issue, but really, for that much $$$ (I think it's about $1800), I just can't see buying one for any reason other than the collectible thing...I don't think it would give me any tone I don't already have with the Chupacabra or the DSL100...In short, meh....I'll just stick to what I've got, as I'm really happy with 'em...I still want a JVM for all the modern Marshall tones, but that's an expensive fucker too, so again, I'll just stick with the Chupa & DSL for now dude...

I would probably be a lot more excited about it if you hadn't played through one a while back, & gave you honest opinion about it....

E-drumbs won't be here until tomorrow, I know the tracking info said today yesterday before I left for work, but last night when I got in, it'd changed until tomorrow/Friday...That's ok though, they'll be here just in time for the weekend....

I'm not 100% convinced the one I've been playing is completely healthy though. It seems sketchy, although it does sound like a Jubilee. It seems to sound about like it's supposed to sound, it just acts buggy. The official demo of the Jube reissue sounds like one I've been using. I'm not impressed with any of them. I really don't understand the fascination with that amp. I'm thinking people like them because they think they're supposed to.

I also need to try it through my own cabs. Those 8x10s we use are weird. They make everything sound middy and brighter than it really is.

On the head, I listened to the demo (Marshall's official demo with Chris George, the lefty guy who does all their demos), & like you, I'm really not impressed....IMHO, I can get pretty close to that tone with either of the amps I have, so I'll pass on the Jube re-issue for now...The new house has pretty much wiped me out too, so no matter how hard GAS hits me, I'll have to pass on about anything for a few months...The e-drums will be the last thing I get probably until summer (last thing that costs much anyway...I'll always be buying strings, picks, some little shit like that...lol), but I'm pretty much set gear-wise after I've went completely fuckin' bonkers buying all this gear over the past year or so.... Plus, I'm planning on going back to the beach for my summer vacation too, not just a few days like last year, I'm gonna spend the whole week there this year, & I'll have to put some $$$ back for that along the way too...I've got a "nest egg", & I'm trying really hard not to tap into it, but damn if it ain't hard sometimes....

Of course, it would be nice to have one of the Jubilee re-issues as a collector thing, but again, I'll pass...If I'm gonna spend that kind of $$$ on an amp, it'd be a JVM410, which would be a lot more versatile, tone-wise...But for now, I'll just stick with my Chupacabra, DSL100, & my 4x12 bastard cab...

Your chupacabra kills the Jubilee. Don't even sweat it. And the reissue will never be collectible. It's a reissue. An original 1987 Jubilee? Sure, highly collectible. A modern reissue? No.

Besides, you can get a Ceriatone Jubilee for $1000.

lots of times those reissues are pale shadows of the originals.
They may sound about the same and the circuit may be the same but the physical aspects are usually modern with surface mounted components ...... plastic jacks soldered directly to the boards etc.

I think Marshall does a good job on their other reissues, they just charge too much for them. They don't cheap out on parts or assembly. Their Plexi and JCM 800 reissues are dead-nuts accurate to the originals, they just obviously don't have those old transformers laying around. Well, the "Plexi" reissue is dead-nuts to the 70s Super Leads anyway. It's not hand-wired like an original Plexi. It's PCB like the 70s models. The 1959 HW (Hand Wired) is....hand wired like 60s Plexis.

I assume this Jubilee reissue is probably like you say though because the originals had PCB mounted jacks and pots and the whole panel attaches to the chassis. It just kind of hangs there like a diving board.

Oh I know the new, re-issue won't be a collector thing dude, I was just sayin' it would be cool to have one, just to be able to say "I've got this amp"....I'm really not interested in that amp in the least to be honest, I'm really happy with my Chupa & DSL...So much so that I really have no GAS for any amp(s) at the moment...I'm actually really happy with the bastard 4x12 too, as it's almost like having 4 different cabs to choose from...I have to thank you for the idea of putting the 4 different speakers in that cab dude, while it doesn't sound terrible in the room, it's fuckin' awesome to have 4 different speakers to choose from in the same cab...

Just checked the tracking info on the e-drumbs, & they're in Nashville, so they'll definitely be here tomorrow sometime, probably after I leave for work. I don't know my new neighbors enough to trust 'em, so I'm having the new girlfriend over (she's here now....) in case they don't arrive until after I leave for work...

Gonna go grab a shower, something to eat, & hit the bed....I'll post some pics of the drumbs when I get 'em set up tomorrow night...
