Yeah it's crazy how that works. I used to bash and destroy Hot Wheels cars that are worth a pretty penny today. I was looking at lists of the most valuable Hot Wheels...I had probably 90% of those damn toy cars and they all got blown up with firecrackers and smashed with hammers and shit. My mom sold all my Star Wars crap at garage sales before anyone had any idea that junk would be nerd-valuable today.

We had a load of that Star Wars stuff - Millennium Falcon, the X-Wing, maybe the At-At. They're worth a fortune nowadays, I think my mum gave them all to charity shops. People are weird, willing to spend so much on crap like that. They're just toys. It's not like they're massive amps or anything useful like that.

Yup, I had all that. The At-At, snowspeeders, x-wings, tie fighters, millenium falcon, all that gay shit. It was nothing back then. It was just movie toys. I don't think anyone thought that shit would be what it is now. I'm not even upset about it because we just didn't know. I guess it's like all those dudes in the 80s and 90s that sold off their Plexis for next to nothing.

I had a few of the Star Wars things, I just really wasn't into it much...I had all 4 of the KISS dolls, & anything that had their names on it though...And literally a closet full of baseball/football cards from the late 70's-early 80's that would probably be worth a lot of $$$ now, all thrown in the trash when I was a teenager.....

oooh ..... me ...ME!!

You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff I traded or sold cheap that's worth a fortune now. A Marshall Major ..... several 50 watt plexis ..... blackface Fenders .... a 1954 pre-production prototype Les Paul custom (called the fretless wonder back then ) .... A Les Paul bass serial number 00001! ...... many, MANY others.

Easily a million bucks worth of stuff at the very least .... probably more.
Ah well ....................

Hot Wheels and little green army men were my main toys of choice.

Holy sweet Jesus.

Wow Bob, that's crazy man....lol....The only old gear I ever really regret getting rid of was an old Fender Bronco amp, & an old Gibson SG Jr. that my parents got me for Christmas when I was about 13...I actually didn't get rid of it myself, my first ex-wife got rid of it for me...

I did have a shit-load of gear about 15 years ago that I slowly snorted too, & while I do regret that shit, all of it didn't mean a damn thing to me compared to the little rig my parents bought me....

I flicked through all the presets that the previous owner left on the Axe-Fx.

Didn't like any of them much to be honest. The metal ones are really saturated and they all have so much reverb and echo on them. The low end was a lot better than other amp sims I've used. I'll figure out how to do your own tomorrow.
The effects are fun though. Spooky ghost sound at 1:10.

reminds me of "crosstown Traffic" .... that's a cool tone if somewhat specialized

Some of those sound okay to me, some are wtf.

Finally fiddled with Mike's POD X3 Live to try and get a patch similar to those on my GP8
Here's the result.

LP Studio (Bridge pickup) + POD X3 Live

Not too bad. A little thin to me, but it seems to work okay in a little bit of a mix.

Schwarz: I like a couple of those tones, but a couple/few of them are pretty out there...might be useful for a synth sound though....

Ido: Not too bad man, I had an X3L for years, & it had some decent sound in it, but I traded it off a few months ago, I just never could get it to sound "right" through any of my amps...Your clip sounds pretty decent though...

Here's a couple clips I did yesterday with the DSL100, G12H, & e609, nothing special, just fucking around really...

LP > DSL100 > G12H > e609
Green crunch, 50w mode
Resonance: 0
Presence: 3
Bass: 6
Middle: 6
Treble: 5-6
Gain: 8

First clip is with the volume on about 2:
Green Crunch Vol 2

Second clip is the volume on about 5:
Green Crunch Vol 5

No eq or anything in the daw, only thing different is the volume on the amp, & I had to adjust the pre-amp gain on my interface to keep it from clipping...

I love the e609 and e606 from what I've used and heard.
The really spark the high end and make distorted sounds more defined.
Pretty cool.

Two versions of guitars for the intro to my most recent thing.
They both feature a humbucker loaded guitar the 2nd version had the level boost by a boss overdrive pedal, (tone neutral, level maxed drive off), and on one side has a tiny bit of drive from the same pedal. If you know boss pedal knobs then the notch is at about 7.15 so just a smidgen to give it some difference again. generally one side is bridge pick up & the other is neck.
Which works better - OH, the 2nd version is louder - sorry.

I like the second one better .... not sure how much of that might be due to the louder nature of it

Those sound shockingly similar. I think the louder one is slightly more clear but that might just be my mind playing tricks on me.

I think I like the first un-boosted section better. But it may be that the mix is just too out of whack on the 2nd version. The guitars sit better in the first section of the clip.
