oh and earlier in this thread i had mentioned buying a bunch of fiberglass from SPI, well i put in my order, then they took 2 weeks and never received it, and told me it would be like another month until their next shipment, so i canceled that shit.
But you've been without treatment for a year and a half(i think) wouldn't it have been better to wait? :D

Ohh and i really like the floor and the drums, the guitar's pretty decent too...

Mum still not got round to making the curtains either? Are those monitors ear level?

haha yeah what happened was i cancelled the order on the treatment, but then ended up spending that money on something else, i just never set aside more money for treatment (even though i really should have...)

and i reminded my dear ol' mother several times about the curtains and she still hasn't done em. so i actually got some acoustic panels that are going to go over the windows on the western wall there. ;)

and yeah the monitors are just below ear level for me, but i'm short anyway. gotta find something to raise them up a bit more, but they actually sound OK from where i sit right now.

A couple of thick books under them?

You need to run down the the hardware store and buy 2 or 3 gallons of paint immediately.

The floor and instruments look great... but the walls are killing the mood in there. How do you ever expect to record a hit in there? :D

yeah man, no white, NO WHITE i hate white

paint it black, NOW!

:D

the drums (blanket is not for "soundproofing", just to close off the studio from the next room):

Hey Zed, are they Wedgies from Auralex behind the drums? Does each square measure 12" x 12"?

yeah those are wedgies, i glued them to a 2'x2' square of peg board and hung em on the wall. so each one of those big squares has 4 wedgies on it.

oh and the walls aren't white, they are like a sort of tan color. i think the wine red and tan looks kinda OK. with the wine red bass traps in the corners it really adds a lot more color to the room. i gotta take some new pictures soon, since i got the acoustic panels earlier this week. they are AWESOME. the room sounds great now, my monitors sound better, the drums sound better, everything just sounds good in there, even just talking haha. i have two 2'x4'x4" panels, two 2'x2'x4" panels, and two 30"x40"x2" panels now in the room, with a wine red cloth covering.

oh and when the drums are not in use, i cover them with this huge burgundy colored sheet (matches the bass traps!) to keep dust and cat hair off of them, so i mean the room isn't always that bland looking. i i think i'm gonna go with a color theme for my studio based on this amp (i love the looks!):
