tascam 424 mk1 channel 2 and 3 problem

Hi there

i just realized that whenever i record something on track 3, the recording on track 2 is erased and vice versa.
This issue does not happen in tracks 1 and 4

do you have any ideas ?

I have a MKII, which is pretty similar.

Do you mean that when you record "AAAAAAA" on track 3, that "AAAAAAAA" ends up on Track 2?

Or, do you mean that when you record "AAAAAAA" on track 3, that "AAAAAA" ends up on track 3, BUT track 2 gets erased clean?
