Wow, that's weird. I thought you'd seriously done it. I wonder if they know how to check IP addresses etc. It might be like the time I impersonated Mustafa Salaam at RecordingProject.com, but this guy seems to be fairly straight in his impersonation.DJL said:YES!!!
No... and I bet it's the jokers at PMI Audio Group... and you just made my FY list. Later.noisedude said:Wow, that's weird. I thought you'd seriously done it. So you didn't volunteer to be a PMI mod? I'll have to change my sig line over there then.

I have never posted, nor will I ever post on the PMI Audio Forums... Period.Justin Hyatt said:Well if you would like to prove its not you posting as DJL over at our forums since it isn't us perhaps you will willingly post your IP here then I can look at our logs for the DJL posting at the PMI Forums.

Justin Hyatt said:Was just trying to be helpful to you in proving that you are not the DJL on our forums as you claim.
boingoman said:And making an ass of yourself in the process.
Justin Hyatt said:LOL really is that how you perceive my intent?
boingoman said:Intent is a vague concept, usually with many layers, many unseen even by the person who claims to know their own intentions.
Oh please - and miss out on a quality whodunnit?! This shit is fun and you should lighten up mate.boingoman said:You could have just banned the poster and not mentioned it again.
Justin Hyatt said:As you wish. I'm just trying to find out if that really is DJL on our forum or not so that I can ban the account if necessary.
Since you added more . . .
I did not bring this here it was here before me as you can see plainly by scrolling up, I'm just trying to reach a resolve and if the only real DJL can only be reached here it seemed only logical to talk to him here to help resolve this.
Sorry, but I think that's true, unless recording is very different than every other skilled trade or profession in life. A skillful person can make a purse out of a sow's ear most every time, but the unskilled will fuck up a piece of silk every time. I myself have been trained in several different areas where skill in performing the work is the the most important aspect of being able to do it, and where all the high end equipment in the world, although helping to reach higher levels of outcomes, won't help at all if you don't have the experience to use it.chessrock said:... especially when you consider that these same "million post" guys are very adamant about telling the newbs exactly the same kind of thing ; that skills and first-hand experience/trial with recording gear is more important than what guys like myself or Harvey or Bluebear or whomever say or think. And that there is no "better" or "best," etc.
noisedude said:I still think people are looking at this all wrong. I couldn't give a damn what a £100 mic sounds like compared to a £2000 one. I'm not looking at £2000 ones.
The relevant comparisons for me are:
1. Other mics in the price range - which do I think sounds 'best'?
2. Mics a bit more expensive - what could I get if I saved just a little more - and is it worth that saving?
