Your going to wish you didn't do that.
Come on, stay focussed. I don't want idle threats - now start spamming my PM box or email address big time or keep your trap shut!  :D :D

Wow, that's weird. I thought you'd seriously done it. I wonder if they know how to check IP addresses etc. It might be like the time I impersonated Mustafa Salaam at RecordingProject.com, but this guy seems to be fairly straight in his impersonation.

So you didn't volunteer to be a PMI mod? I'll have to change my sig line over there then.

No... and I bet it's the jokers at PMI Audio Group... and you just made my FY list. Later.

Ok. Have it your way. I'll let you know if we work out who it is. :)

How much you wanna bet?:D

What exactly is an FY list? Can I be on it? Oh, wait. I probably already am.

Well if you would like to prove its not you posting as DJL over at our forums since it isn't us perhaps you will willingly post your IP here then I can look at our logs for the DJL posting at the PMI Forums.

I have never posted, nor will I ever post on the PMI Audio Forums... Period.

Was just trying to be helpful to you in proving that you are not the DJL on our forums as you claim.

And making an ass of yourself in the process.

What? Just like you'll never post any examples of your work in the MP3 forum, you mean?

Yep, it's not DJL over there :p

All I know for sure is that it's not me. However, if someone starts posting over there as TheRealDJL, I don't know nuthin' about that.

LOL really is that how you perceive my intent?

Intent is a vague concept, usually with many layers, many unseen even by the person who claims to know their own intentions.

I do not think that was your intention, but in my eyes that was the result.

I have long since stopped expecting professional behavior from some of the professionals on this board.

Bringing a problem from your own forum here and laying at someone's feet is lame. You could have just banned the poster and not mentioned it again.

I think we're all missing the essential point here.

Which is that ALL condenser mics are rubbish in a home studio environment :p

As you wish. I'm just trying to find out if that really is DJL on our forum or not so that I can ban the account if necessary.

Since you added more . . .
I did not bring this here it was here before me as you can see plainly by scrolling up, I'm just trying to reach a resolve and if the only real DJL can only be reached here it seemed only logical to talk to him here to help resolve this.

Oh please - and miss out on a quality whodunnit?! This shit is fun and you should lighten up mate.

Mark's got the right grip on things. No sense in being serious or talking sense - so he talks rubbish instead. Very mature of him! ;)

PMI Audio Group Sucks!!!

 I've already told you... it's not me.

Well according to our IP records it seems the poster posting as DJL is from Canada and if I remember corectly your from San Jose. So the DJL accouant has been baned, if you should wish to post on our forums just let me know and I can unban it for your use.

... especially when you consider that these same "million post" guys are very adamant about telling the newbs exactly the same kind of thing ; that skills and first-hand experience/trial with recording gear is more important than what guys like myself or Harvey or Bluebear or whomever say or think. And that there is no "better" or "best," etc.
Sorry, but I think that's true, unless recording is very different than every other skilled trade or profession in life. A skillful person can make a purse out of a sow's ear most every time, but the unskilled will fuck up a piece of silk every time. I myself have been trained in several different areas where skill in performing the work is the the most important aspect of being able to do it, and where all the high end equipment in the world, although helping to reach higher levels of outcomes, won't help at all if you don't have the experience to use it.

In my memory, Harvey has never espoused the necessity of using high end gear - that's what has made him the single most valuable poster on these boards - he tells us how to do it with the lower end but adequate gear, and is all about acquiring skills, not gear.

Sure, it's nice to hear about the great gear, and the tricks of the trade, but a lot of folks get the idea from some posters here that they can't do good or even adequate work without the best of equipment, and that's simply not true.

I still think people are looking at this all wrong. I couldn't give a damn what a £100 mic sounds like compared to a £2000 one. I'm not looking at £2000 ones.

The relevant comparisons for me are:
1. Other mics in the price range - which do I think sounds 'best'?
2. Mics a bit more expensive - what could I get if I saved just a little more - and is it worth that saving?

... ... ... ...

Goddamn! Someone IS listening.
