Ok so I have reaper and I have guitar rig 3 however I cant seem to record with guitar rig. I can open it inside of Reaper however there's no signal registering.

Its very likely something small and silly but would someone mind walking me through it please?

Thanks everyone

Not sure what you mean..

In reaper I have the inputs and outputs set to my firepod because thats what I plug my guitar into.

I can use guitar rig just fine outside of reaper, it works like a dream, no latency, nothing at all wrong with it. But when I hit "Virtual instrument on new track" in Reaper, it wont register input or signal, all I get is a the dry clean tone from the firepod.

Anyone?

Alrighty now...

I figured it out, sort of.

When I use Guitar Rig as a plugin to a signal thats already been recorded, it works perfectly.

However,

What I want to be able to do is record WHILE playing Guitar Rig.

Guitar Rig, in the case of what you're doing, isn't a virtual instrument. What you need to do is:
Create a track
Hit the FX button
Insert Guitar Rig plugin (preferably VST, but DX works too)
Click R on the left side of the track to arm it
Select the correct input by clicking in the meter that appears after you arm the track
Voila!
And if you need to hear it while playing, hit the monitor button to the left of where you select your input.

You also have to tell Reaper to record the track's output rather than input. That is one of the options available when you right-click the track arm button.
