I need a Reaper tutor

There are a ton of people using Focusrites. It's probably the most popular brand among the home recording market. I have a buddy in Minnesota that uses a 2i2 for recording acoustic guitar and vocal. He has a laptop, not high powered, and uses Reaper. It works for him. I went with a Tascam back years ago. It's worked for me.

Every brand will have instances where someone has a problem, but it just seemed that the Prosonus had more instances that Focusrite or Motu or Behringer.

The Motu M4 is a very popular unit these days. It's priced similarly to the 4i4.
Thank you.

Thank you.
I'm still waiting to hear back from PreSonus Support on their latest reason - other than the interface - for these "clicks." I've already proved my theory that the interface is the cause, using Cakewalk, but I'm saving that info until I hear from them.

I have attached my personal "how to" notes. There are 20 pages and I believe are 98% accurate. I received a LOT of help from this forum which is excellent. Brian

Thank you Briam. I was able to get Cakewalk to work for me without any issues.

I wanted to get back to everyone that offered their assistance on my "clicks" issue, to tell you that today I was in a live session with PreSonus Support, where the tech basically took control of my OS (most of the time). I was able to record some vocal and create "in real time" some evidence of these "clicks" that occur during recording. I sent him the WAV file, which he reviewed and......drum roll........he confirmed that the cause of the "clicks" was the pre-amps in the Audiobox 96!

Now on one hand, this is great news; having a PreSonus rep. confirm the cause of the problem.

But on the other hand, at no time did I get any kind of "apology" or any back-pedaling regarding the fact that I had been suggesting this was the issue all along and they basically played stupid on it, suggesting a host of other things. This includes them refusing to acknowledge the forum traffic on PreSonus' own forum, from users complaining about the interface. 🤬

And please note - I purchased an Audiobox 96 in 2021 as a REPLACEMENT for the one that came with the original software bundle, which I suspected as being faulty.

I contacted Will Collins at Sweetwater (I'm a good customer there) informing him that the units they have in inventory are most likely faulty.

Anyway, my new Focusrite interface should be here in a few days.
