Alright, I'm uploading a single ZIP with all of the WAV files in it. Hopefully these files will work for those who have been having trouble. The files are still uploading as I post this. The upload still has about 2 1/2 hours to go, so don't try it right away.

Let me know how it works out. Here's the link:

Link removed per Giles request.

Here's my first shot at it. The vocals don't stand out as much as I would like but I dont feel like restarting my computer then export again the upload......

It was at 106bpm for me.

Doesn't sound right - the wavs are 44.1. Is your software is set to 48KHz? Go check it out. Take a listen to one of the other mixes to see where the key of the song is.

Ok Fellas,

Im not mixing on the floor anymore, so I have no more excuses. :D Maybe one, tryin to get used to my new room but to me it sounds pretty good. So Im leaving it as it is until I get some comments. :)

thanks

Yes, this attempt has the wrong sample rate it seems. Very fast compared to mine and others that have posted rough mixes.

Bryan, or any one else notice something funky goin on with the bass?
Bryan was the bass brought in by DI, mic , both? I'm getting some funky levels/buzzing. Like a cable was shorting?
Or am I hearing things?

T

There are quite a few buzzez (bad cable), glitches (no crossfades on edits), pops (string slapped onto pickup) and 5k-8k noises (computer monitor, maybe) in there. Bryan was in a hurry when he recorded and comped this, I guess ;)
And I'd bet it's just a DI signal, because of the loud pops.

Oh, and as I said before, 98 seems to be the BPM.

Actually the Bass Player recorded this at his spot on his laptop with his M-Audio Interface. Not sure if he used his David Eden Head going direct out or not. He gave me 2 takes of the bass and I picked the best feeling parts.

All My stuff was recorded in a livingroom and vocals in a hallway :D. And Of Course Digital Drums

Do we have to guess what time the instrumentals kick in????

Man it sounds like "You" I think it's called by George Micheal, the one he did with that black chick, the verse does. A hell of a lot!

:o OK, so I wasn't hearing things....

My first jab at tinkering on this was waiting for my g/f to finish a meeting... So I sat in the car with my new laptop (p4 3.2 w/ 1.0 g RAM and 100 g HDD.... MMMMMmmmmm......) and my newly downloaded free version of Tracktion to see how it works (I'm liking it so far btw).
Nothing but the laptop monitors to listen on when I was in the car, (sometimes a fella just gets ansty) but I thought there was something goofy about the bass track...
Liking the song tho... this will be fun...
Hopefully I'll be able to keep 'real life' off my back long enough to actually submit something for this contest... lol

Just start all the tracks at 00.00.00 (or whatever time, as long as they all start the same). I just drag them all at once into cubase.

My power supply has died on my Saber (wahhhh) it's in the shop to get fixed so I might try mixing in the box for this one......haven't done that in a while.

I can't find a song called "you" by GM - Do you mean "As" - which is GM and MJ Blige?

I fixed it and made a couple changes. Please tell me what you think...

Not familiar with that song.

What /whose project is it on, which album All I can find is lyrics, no CD references.

3rd Edit.

Cream Anthem 1998 or the Single all Import. No wonder I never heard it or heard of it.

BUT!!!
Because it was written by Stevland Morris (Stevie Wonder) Yeah you might find some of his personality in her music after all she is a motown girl :)

Thrid edit.

That song is a classic. You should check out the original.....

I'll be loving you always... :) 1976 baby :)

And I am sure the guy who laid the bed board track was influenced. heck we all were influenced by Stevie LOL.

I have everything he ever put out :)

Fl your vocals are off by it seems 1 bar. (push them back they are out of time)

All the tracks start at Zero. Check your importing. Please note, changes (adding parts flying stuff around rearrangements) will automatically disqualify your entry. Mix what you got, dont re-produce it :)

But we are allowed to mute tracks, aren't we? I mean take some tracks out in some segments of the song.

Nope I did all the Editing before hand. The track is as it should be :) Sorry really strict on this one. Mix it and mix it well. :)

Muting parts is considered remixing in my Manual. :)
