Also please respect the FTP site. Some one decided to upload some personal songs there. This is only for contest useage.

The solution seems to be soundforge. I guess it trims some of the additonal metadata that OS X dumps into a wav file.

I found this pretty interesting as well...
I couldn't load the waves into Cakewalk Music Creator ('Unrecognized Format') but I can load them into the free version of Kristal, export out of Kristal as a new Wave and load into Cakewalk with no problem at all...

For those of us without SF...

Bummer... I can't load them into Nuendo, so I tried Windows Media player.... Unrecognized Codec error on every file...

Hmmm..... haven't had this problem on any of the other Public Mix Contests.... I'll have to think about this for a bit....

ANybody that wants a non-contest MP3 hosted can email it to - blowfish@attbi.com - and I will host it.

Anybody have a fast upload line? (mines only 256) - need a quick favor.

I Believe Apple is getting arogant again and the wav format is non standard. I did a direct export of these audio files from SD II format into Wave format. Nothing special. The export was via Apples Core Audio driver.

So we have soundforge and kristal which will convert the files properly.

Here is a link 2 kristal

I sent you a PM...

Let me know if you can do it/it's done.

Thanks a ton.

ps - where are you at on the OR Coast? I'm in Vancouver, WA.

Isn't there a 3 party app that converts to help meta file blah blah for PC?
db audioware or something or other?
For MAC there is Soundhack or SoundApp for fixing file associated dealio. I use it to fix/convert files that I can't otherwise access.

Vancouver is my old stompin grounds... I'm in Astoria now...

We'll have to arrange a BBQ-type event for all of us PNW audio-philes... When/if it ever stops raining...

Should be done in the next 5 minutes or so...

Looks like I'm going to have to submit mine a bit early. I'm here till friday before going home till the beginning of january, and I wont have my mixization computer down there. Oh well, better than last two times where I mixed it up, got bored, and moved on before finishing anything hehe.

ok..im quite confused by now...i am currently downloading from giles but after reading all of this..im wondering if i am waisting my time...can someone post a link to where someone running CEP/AA can download the files???
thanks
Jeremy

Jeremy, there are a couple fo FREEware utilities you can use to convert the data to a PC universal readble format.

Krist is one such utility

super bah.

What's the deal with the individual files zipped anyway?

If the whole thing's zipped, what's the gain of zipping everything?

  ;) just more clicking on my part.

We need some sorta mad face with steam coming out the ears or off the head or something... could be humorous if done properly!

Well, I'm not sure what happened, but the file is being upladed to your server now from here. Gonna take a couple three hours or so.
