nah the worm was just enuff. We had more of it then pulled it after subjective listening. It was too busy. Some things are flavor... Hit and run :)

Lots of Rice Crispies???
 
Couple of questions:

I'm new here so where is the final mix submitted and in what format?

And, the longest tracks seem to be the bass, which abruptly ends, and the triangle track. Did I screw up a dl, or is this the way it was tracked?

Out of the15 people that listened to it nobody wants to point out any blatant errors? Do I stink or something?[sniffs armpits] Maybe there is a secret handshake that I'm missing. As DR Evil would say "throw me a frikin' bone here"

1 - When you listen to the song the tracks issue will make sense to you.
2 - When you have your final mix, post a link here and i will host them on my server as usual. :)

I guess it would be busy if there was more worm in there.

rice crispies... every soundbyte had a clip at the end.quite loud too!! Had to
edit those out-no big or maybe a SRC error?

I still couldn't get those harmony track to import. DP won't see them by adding(sounbyte window) or by manually dragging into the audio files folder. I got them from your server.Got the wav files.

Anyone have individual tracks up?

PT user - There is no bass track in there. And the kick in my opinion is just a little too loud. Not much, but i think just a little much to make it unbalancing. It seems a little loose too and i think it will get lost in the bass track once you add it. I know this is supposed to be pretty bassy music but it still seems a little much compared to professional mixes.

I think the reverb is a little too muddy also in my opinion. Just kinda hides the depth of everything instead of adding to it.

I think i might have some time to do a little of my own mixing with this today.

Tonio, All these files were exported from DP 4.5 What version are you running. I can possibly supply you with the DP files and project info. (of course it would be a slow download from me) the Aiff's on my server are also from DP 4.5

Bryan running 3.02-soon to get 4.5 needs my ADC!! I'd be cool if you could supply those. Though I'm just missing the bck/vox harmony tracks-should be 3?

There are a total of 8 Stereo BGV tracks 5 which fit in ALL the hooks and 3 which only hit during the Bridge... whcih ones are you missing?

And do the upgrade QUICK. What Mac are you running??? Like I said the original mix of this song was done on a 800Mhz Single processor G4.

I wonder how I lived without 4.5

4.0/4.1/4.12 was not worth the upgrade money but 4.5 is. :)

At the day gig now, so am not exactly sure. me thinks its the BGV bridge harmony tracks. makes sense , I need 3 tracks -Will post back tonight for the exact ones I need.

I'm running a G4-2x800. I figured that Dp4 would not cut it with all the OSX
growing pains, I toughed it out. Now that I got a G4, and recently got the UAD-1--you see I knew MOTU would have ADC, LOL:) DP4.5 was announced like 2 weeks after I got the UAD-1.

When I moved from my single to my Dual 867 DP 4.12 was fun to work in. Projects that choked in Dp 3.11 (like this 36 stereo track 16 mono track orchestra Project with plugins. Opened up in DP 4.12 with ease and about 60% processor hit. Dp 4.5 is even more efficient and well worth the money :) Maybe I am over enthusiastic, but they done sealed PT's fate fopr me. Bout the only thing I will do is keep an M-Box handy/Freeze tracks when need be so I can run the esoteric PT plugins. :) (NAH!!! Just kidding. LOL)

I've heard some of those PT plugs, some are good, but for the price geez!!

Up until a while ago I was on a Beige G3 /500 doh!!;(

Looks like I need the BGV-bridge harmony tracks (3).

Hey whatever man my 1st Gold record came off of a song mixed on a Single g3 450 :) In DP 3.1

So don't hate on that Beige box. LOL

The Only PT Plugs I want... Focusrite Forte. Eventide and Princeton Reverb :) (Plugin Lust)

Ok, here is my finished mix - not final, but I think it's pretty much finished. I'm gonna let it sit for a week and come back and make some fine adjustments. I went slightly away from the artists interpretation (which is probably bad), but I kinda emphasized the jazz more than the hip-hop. Let me know what you think.

 
yo, giles, do you have somewhere I can upload this first mix of mine so you and the others can have a go at it? or does anyone have any space i could upload to for that matter?
 
ok cool. well im going to send about a 1 minute clip of the whole mix because i only have a netscape account that allows me to send 3mb worht of data. and i dont want to compress it down to 96kbps because then what the point of sending you the mix? lol
