On the other hand - it does take time and effort to do the judging, and both Bryan and I had complications that messed up our schedules too,
And yet, you were able to get it done when you said you would. More importantly, you communicated with each other throughout the process. I'm more concerned about the lack of communication than I am about the judging deadline.

Can we at least agree that if she doesn't respond today, you 2 can post your results this evening?

Fair enough, I suppose......

Anyways, I just emailed her - hopefully she get back to us soon!

Cool. Thanks. I'll check back at 8 p.m. EST. Thanks to Giles and BB (and maybe GuitarHunny :D ) for taking the time to judge.

I appologize with all the guilt I have in my body. I had some very important personal issues that I had to take care of that left me out of the house and the judging took me longer than expected. Please forgive my mismanagement of time this weekend. Very unproffessional and inexcusable and I will punish myself. I hope I haven't done any permanent damage. It was not my intention to do so:(:(:(

I've tallied up the results........ attached are the overall scores...

I'll follow-up this post with posts for each judge's specific scores (per section)....

Interesting that the results fairly consistent across the board for the higher-scoring contestants, much more variance in the judges decision at the lower-scoring entries.

Hmm... wow... hmm. I was expecting abetter score than 33%.
But oh well... Congrats to all that entered, especially the winners.

cool. I should let them know with my scoring I ended up with a few people scoring the same #'s (but it was varied as far as what was good and whats was not) My scoring system was a 1-5 scale. BB doubled the numbers which led to greater inaccuracies. i apologize for my judging criteria. This was fun. There was some potential in the mixes. The biggest Issue I had was the depth and imaging of the mixes. No one really brought them off the speakers...

Cool - Thanks to you judges for taking the time to do this. It was a fun experience and I'll be taking part in #5.

Just out of curiosity can you tell us how you scored the entries (It's probably in this thread somewhere, but it's a damn big thread !) ?

I realize it's hard to make comments on so many mixes so maybe if you showed us generally where most problems occurred we might learn something and take it forward to our own mixes. :)

Here's GuitarHunny's individual results....

Thanks for letting me be a judge. It was a lot of fun and very good for my own recording studies. I hope I can do it again sometime.

I don't have Hi-Speed Internet or else I'd help out and judge.

I agree... virtually no depth/sense of space in most of them.

Thanks Bryan and Ruth for the additional judging duties, it's interesting to get other people's takes on the same mixes, using the same criteria!

Congrats to Badchi -- you've won yourself a free mix of one of your tunes, compliments of Blue Bear Sound. For everyone else, I'm sure there are some nice parting gifts -- free cold cuts or something... on the table at the back! :p

I'll be participating in contest #5, so I won't be judging it, but maybe Ruth and Bryan can continue -- and Vestast, what about you as a third judge? Or even Fin?? CarIndy - if you're around, what about you jumping in for judging duty?!

I'll judge again if I am needed. My equipment isn't quite up to par for participating in the contest yet but my ears are always ready.

Whoa...sniped by the hunny, LOL!!!!

Hey judges, all 3 of you deserve a big pat on the back, and I really appreciated getting some feedback - especially from Bruce since he's never commented on a mix of mine ever in the history of the world. :D :D

(not true, by the way...he has).

Congrats to badchi - everybody have a nice day!! :D

Sure I can be a judge. I have those new ASP8's (didn't get a chance to mix on them for this contest though).

Bryan - Mark me down as a judge. I can post in the #5 contest thread if you want.

Dave

Just listening to the winning mix... Well deserved.
Congrats Badchi. Nice intro... :)

Now, if I could get someone to critique mine in depth,
So I can know exactly where I went wrong... Haha...
