Parallel Output Jacks on an AMP

It looks like the Crate mixer has two amps that are each mono channel. Each channel has two speaker jacks to enable you to use 2 FOH speakers and 2 monitor speakers. You are correct that each amp sees a 4 ohm load. No Problems there, I believe you have been using it correctly.

About the power concerns for the Crown...perhaps this will help. It is a good rule to follow. I believe it is very important with subs, mid-bass, and maybe hard driven mid range speakers, and a bit less important with higher frequency speakers.

You will need to dig up the power rating specs for your Crown amp and for the speakers to determine if they are well matched.

Ok, here are the specs on the speakers I use. The FOH ones say 150 rms 600 watts peak. The subs I am getting are 300 RMS and 600 watts peak. I plan to use the Behringer 1500 for the subs, one to each channel. Anyone see any problems?

Also, if the subs have an internal crossover and I am using an external one to divide the signal. That shouldn't matter right? In other words the internal crossover in the sub won't be in effect since it will only be getting a "low" signal?

I don't understand why it would be "underpowering" the cabs. Wouldn't it be pushing more wattage at 4 ohms thereby providing more power to the cabs?

I'm not saying that it will or won't underpower the speakers. I'm just cautioning against underpowering them, because that can be every bit as devastating to a speak as overpowering it, if not more. An amp that's underpowered will have to work harder to efficiently drive the speakers its connected to. The harder the amp works, the easier it is to drive it into clipping. Severe clipping can result in what is, in effect, a square wave which appears as direct current to your speakers. A severe transient, like a snare drum hit, can cause severe clipping and could toast one of your drivers.

Again, this is how I understand it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

4 Ω per channel 400 W 1 kHz @ 0.1% THD, both channels driven:
8 Ω per channel 280 W
4 Ω per channel 450 W
2 Ω per channel 700 W
Bridged Mono:
8 Ω, 20 Hz - 20 kHz, 0.1% THD 800 W
8 Ω, 1 kHz, 0.1% THD 900 W
4 Ω, 1 kHz, 1% THD 1400 W
