Hello Knowledgeable Ones,

I have an mbox2 and plan on recording a friend and I playing two acoustic guitars and singing. Given we can only have two channels, I am assuming one mic for the instruments and one for the focals. I have done some research and think i need an SDC for the guitars and something like a beyer M201 for the vocals. Though I am not confident in this assumption. We would like to spend ~$500 for the two combined. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

regards

Try HERE first. Scroll down to mics under $300. ;) Hope it helps, DAve.

Thanks much! Yes I did see the faq and it was very helpful. That was how I came to original question. I was just hoping for any insights into which mics for what reason. Also, wanted to include that I will be using a mbox 2 so people knew what i was recording into. Ideally I would get something along the lines of "I would place mic A here to best capture the guitars and place mic B here to get the vocals."

thx!
