Have you tried both?
What stands out in the SE Z5600A?
9 patterns, very smooth tube sound, and for those into looks, it's a big honkin mic. Many believe it is one of the best tube mics under $1000.
I own one and love it. If you are not looking for a tube mic, the Z3300A selling at $499 generally, is 3 pattern and has a big sound and the "air" that many are looking for.
There are a lot of nice mics under $1000 that might do you well.
Of course there are a lot of nice mics over $1000 that will do the same.

So I guess I'm debating over the Gefell 930 and the Z3300A.
I'm guessing that all are in favor for the Gefell.

Z3300A - $500
or
Gefell 930 - $750 used (2 years old)

everyone that I knwo that uses the z3300 uses it in a specific situation, not as an all arounder. The Gefell is DEFINITELY an all arounder. Workhorse too..

That said, I am going to grab the z3300a for a bass spot.

Quick question. How does the Z3300A differ from the Z2200A besides the different polar patterns.

frequency response of the cardiod setting. 2200 is more flat, whereas the 3300 has a HF lift.

I did a quick recording for a female keyboardist singer last week and I initially tried the Z3300A and ended up using the SE Titan. If she returns and has more time to work with between kids and life, I'll get the Z5600A out.

FUCK!!!!!!!!!!
The guy selling the Gefell M930 on ebay for $750.00 took it off for some reason.
SHIT!!! I was going to buy it!!!!
Now what do I do  :(

Wait for another used M930, or get a new one (shop around). Another advantage of the M930 is consistency. After you get one, you'll probably want another and they pair up nicely even if from different years.

You had to hop all over that like it was your sister.

Analysis paralysis.

Oh, well, there'll be another one sometime.
