Is there any way to cut and paste data to save recording time?? also, I'm using cakewalk 9.0 professional as an editing tool but haven't worked how to play new tracks while monitoring the computer . I'm using a roland ra 95 as a tone generator but windows xp doesn't send my midi data to the recorder. It's a lot to throw out there for my first time but any help would be really appreciated. I know this can be done but it's all new to me.can you guys help??? thanks

Yes there is way to cut and paste but to my knowledge you have to do it by timing the setting of LocA and LocB positions first by ear, which can make syncing parts up pretty difficult. Look at page 68 in your MR-8 manual.

As far as mIDI I don't know anything about it. Sorry.

I use clubtracks to clean up and edit my recordings but I try to get them down with ease to the MR-8. Can you send MIDI data right to your roland instead of through the MR-8?

I think you are refering to the way you can record a clip in Cakewalk, and copy/paste the same one - basically the only storage used is the first clip? The MR-8 does not work that way. Would be pretty cool, though!

Although... the .adl would seen to imply that placing the same wav at different points in the event list would theoretically work that way... Something to try tonight!

I can already tell it's gonna be very helpful to tap into this co-ops vast experience and I'm looking forward to reading all future insight you guys put out there. I've never participated in one of these message boards before and it's really nice to talk to others with the same interest.I hope this doesn't sound corney but thanks.I need all the help I can get.
