Hey - have you guys checked your spam folders? The server is sending the emails out. I get a CC of all the emails given out, and I have checked it several times by uploading files, and I receive both emails every time. I'm not sure what else would be stopping the emails......
Yes, checked. I haven't change anything on my account, so I don't know whats stopping them.

this contest is now closed. sorry i was late. was watching a movie :)

we should have the results in a couple of days.

Pica, pm me your addy and i'll get your prize to you :)

oh and now if you guys have comments about each others mixes, you can share them now. :)

congrats Picadogrueso, and thank you all for entering.

From my point of view it was a good exercise. Some really, REALLY good mixes in the bunch too. Remember, the result is a synthesis of three opinions, tastes and set of ears.
I'd like to congratulate all contestants - I learnt something from all of you.
All of you took a terrific song to another level.

congrats everybody, and thanks Nicole, rayc, and any other judges I may not know about -- this was fun!

I listened to them all and I agree those 2 were stand outs. This was fun and good job everybody.

Hi everyone
It was fun to mix this song especialy when I have only the chance to mix a new one when someone post the tracks in this forum.:)

PD: Thank's Nicole_Rose for the prize it's a very nice incentive.

Congrats to all. It was fun. Let's do it again some time! :D

I wasn't in it to win, btw, just to practice. It's easy when the song is tracked right! ;)

Yeah, Congrats! it's been a while since I've been in one of these, it's always cool to hear all the different interpretations of the mixes, plus it's a good way to try new/different way of mixing, way's you wouldn't do for a client!

P.S. Yes Thanks to the Players and the Judges!

i'd like to put one of my songs up for this at some point. i think that i've done pretty well tracking lately but i always end up with a real challenge somewhere and i'd like to see how others overcome it. things like a lame snare track or something.

it will probably be a while though before i have anything to put up.

I enjoyed listening to everyone's mixes. A lot of great ideas. I'm not sure what was more challenging, mixing or judging. 10 entrants and I had to listen to each about 4 times. You would think I'd have the words memorized by now..... ;)

Congrats to picado!!

A set of MP3s of the tracks would mean a smaller download &, given they'll be shrunk again to post it might even be easier.
"200 lashes for the victim of a gang rape..." is going to go around my head for a couple of years or more I'm sure - partly due to repetition but also the fact that the line REALLY bites.

The title/first line did come up for me, too -- "Daddy, whatcha doin'?" "Why, I'm participating in an online mixing contest! That's where a bunch of us take the different parts of a song and put them together in different ways. Isn't that cool?!" "What's the name of the song you're mixing?" "It's, um, well, it's..."

"Honey -- get off the computer!!" "Wait - I just gotta finish this mix" "You're songs are awful anyway -- give it up and do something constructive!" "But this isn't *my* song, supportive sweety, this is a mixing contest" "Oh - what song is it?" "It's, um, well, it's..."

:D - but a compelling title and topic it is!

Isn't this the story of that woman in the middle east? Wasn't it Afghanistan?

I listened to some of the mixes. Interesting idea. Maybe if I can stick around for more than a couple hours every year or so, I'll get in on this. I only record vocal and acoustic guitar, myself, so a full on song mix would help me out.
