Little confusion over Pro Tools 12 Subscriptions.

I want to get this DAW on a subscription basis as I can't afford to buy the full version right now.

There are two options:

> Pro Tools 12 Monthly Subscription with Upgrade Plan - $29.99
> Pro Tools 12 Annual Subscription with Upgrade Plan (Billed monthly) - $24.92

Which one should I choose to pay like other services such as Netflix or HULU? I think I can go the second one as it clearly shows billed monthly but I am confused about the monthly and annual subscription written above.

Is it true that I have to buy their USB license to activate the software even in subscription plan?
 
Seems like the simple tactic to get you to sign up for a year.
$29.99 a month, or $24.99 a month if you agree to commit for a year.

It may be a subscription service, but you still need to own an ilok 2 which is a security measure.
It's meant to prevent people from distributing and using illegal copies.

The ilok must be plugged in while PT is running.
