its a projectmixI/O i also have a creation station cpu 22" screen soon to have split screen, and protools, antares plug in hp60 headphone amp, KRK 5 rokit monitors. very simple set up but works great.

my new basement project studio

Hey all. Thanks for all the help with the bass traps & assorted knowledge gleaned from this awesome board!

This is the "basement" of my new townhouse. i had it "soundproofed" with a layer of insulation then soundchoice fiberboard, green glue, and extra layer of drywall.

Its just for screwing around and drunken delusions of grandeur with my bros that still play. and doubles as my secondary AV setup & game system hangout room.

I'm stoked with how it turned out and 3 jams in no complaints from the neighbors or wife!

Love the blue. Works pretty good.

OK, here we go. I know it's going to be hard to visualize from these pictures but this is the raw framework we're starting with. The house was built in 1961 with the piano and organ in mind. Near term we plan to relocate the organ in order to open up the room to it's full potential; about 34' x 34' x 18' high. This is living space, playing space and recording studio so ascetics play a bit part. No giant blocks of foam are going to make it past spousal review; but hanging tapestries might ;-)

The organ relocation, which includes the "loft" is one of the first things on the list. I'm thinking (and have the OK) to split the speakers symetrically across the room. I may do that as a way to hide stereo speakers but I'm thinking of keeping the real organ sound system over on one wall.

Oh, and yes...that is a Finlandia bottle holding up the Yorkville YSM1p on the right!!!:D

Wow that's a great room. It's funny you mention that you had no complaints from your wife, cause if I had a basement like that, I'd probably never see my wife. :)

hahahahahaha that's exactly what has happened.

I get home and we have dinner and watch a show or two and then i disappear.

she'll call me on the intercom when she needs to be "tucked in" so I do my time for 15 min.. give her a little backrub to knock her out and back to the cave.

I LOVE IT.

I tidied my space up abit & added cheap but cheerful M20 monitors.
THe other half of the room is more interesting but less organised.
I'll have to do some more work to make the organisation more reeal than apparent.
