Thanks i will give that a try. I am also going to add curtains to the opening... i'm hoping that will help some as well. I'll post again once i have it all re-configured... thanks again!!!
The curtains will absorb high frequencies only. Make sure there are a lot of ripples in the curtains for more absorbtion. If you could build bass traps for the 2 corners that'd help a bunch, and if you added absorbtion where the sound from the speaker reflects off the wall to your ear, ie get someone to hold a mirror on the side wall while you sit in your mixing position, and at the point you can see the speaker in the mirror place some absorbtion.

Thanks!!! you're the best!!! I really appreciate all the advise!!! I'm going to work on moving everything this weekend. Simple bass traps for the corners.. shouldn't be a problem either.. I just have not been able to come up with anything for this room, because of how terrible it is... I did notice that the highs were a little different when i added the set of curtains i have on the window area. Perhaps with the other end blocked it will block out the water sounds from the aquarium at least... It won't do anything for the neighbors... which hate the bass from the 10' subwoofer... I may have to turn the sub off altogether and just deal with the range i'm getting from the KRK 5's... which are actually ok without the sub. Thanks again!!!

Well hopefully this turns your terrible room into a decent home studio

Any more questions I'll be happy to try and answer for, as will a hell of a lot of the guys around here.

Nice lil setup you have there. Why not move the mixing position to the middle of that wall, so you can play guitar easier, and so you have a better mixing position. :D

Btw your setup is better than mine atm, lol. Ohh how i need to start working on my studio :D

The key is, you've got a lava lamp. Job well done. :D

I've also got creative speakers and soundcard which just screws the whole thing right up. :D

It will change as soon as i can scrape some money together, after I've upgraded my PA.

Why all the wall you have? Could you take a pic from further out so we can see the room? Ohh and if that's all the room you have(allowed) then, i hate to say this but, why not turn the desk diagonally so you atleast have better stereo imaging. And then add a bass trap in the corner to help with the bass problems you must have.

It's a neverending process dude. You say that the speakers and soundcard screw it up, but once you get those, it'll be the pre's. Then your rack. Then the walls. Then your mics.. The list never ends. :(

Don't i know it, lol. I'll just get a getting a basic setup, so everything will be about the same level of shittiness. :D

dude! get those monitors OFF the table! At ears height please!
Was that to me? I will get them ear height etc when I get my full setup, and get rid of the creatives. But atm, I'm not really bothered, as I don't record much anyway. :o
