No new pics, but I downgraded my studio at the moment..cause I moved back with my parents for a while...

so now, no more dedicated room, just a corner in a bedroom I share with my brother.. :(

PLUS another drama: while moving, my lavalamp fell and broke.

HEX!

:D

Anyway I'll be bigger stronger faster around february/march when I move house, city and country, and have an appartement of my own!

oh and even though I can't put a desk anywhere, I just swapped my Studiomaster 24-2 for an Allen & Heath 16-4-2...so that's cool...

Wow, that's a hell of a control room, Lost One. I'm assuming this is yours and you're not just spamming photos from someone else's studio, right? Nah, you don't seem to be that kind of person :) Care to give us details on the construction, treatment, etc.?

Looks good. Only thing is, corners are bad, and doesn't that sloping roof screw with the stereo imaging? Wouldn't it be better to put you mixing position half way along the wall with the slope?

okay, just for giggles

Here's my current room. Part of my weird requirement, I have to be able to use it as I'm still building it in order to pay for the stuff for the build.

I'm different than many of you since my studio is for voice overs, etc. Notice the incomplete booth on the left. Once it's finished I'll come up with a decent desk and deal with the rest of the room.

Points of interest:

VO Booth on the left (not finished)

Keyboard is a hobby only, lol.

The foam behind the desk is actually my "portable" vo booth that I posted a while back.

And the ceiling fan: yeah, it's gotta come down before I put the door on the booth. :(

Can you help me ORGANIZE it???

Here's what I got so far. I plan to get a Mackie 24*8 bus mixer and a laptop for Serato (with the turntables). I will also get atleast one other keyboard and will need a rack (or desk with racks) for synths, fx, preamp, etc. Can you guys help me get organized so that it all looks clean and streamlined?

Thanks
B.

Thanx for the compliment on the studio. no i'm not spaming this is actually my studio and is not finished yet..

i still need to treat it with diffusors and bass traps. as well as i'm waiting for the dest for my mixing board i have a 24 channel ghost with midi automation and i'm getting a omnirax synergy 800.

the desk you guys see there is for my video stuff i'm running 2 computers for my video stuff, a pc and a mac. pc running avid and mac running final cut pro. i use 2 monitors and switch back and forth from pc to mac with a kvm switch. (4 computer dual monitor kvm sitch)
for audio i use Nuendo, pro tools tdm and avid pro tools le(for avid).
if you guys like i can post some video footage of the studio when we started to build it. let me tell you to paint the walls that color was a pain. because the walls kept on sucking so much pait we had to do like 6 passes per wall!!!!!!

here is the other side not finished yet

Ahhhh.....Lava Lamps! Good man. I like the NAD too. That's what I use for the upstairs stereo system.

Hey, don't knock samson.

I use an MPL2242 "live" 4-buss mixer for what little "on road" stuff I've done over the years, and it's EXTREMELY quiet.

Not sure about their other stuff, but that mixer I like.

i can't beleive my eyes.....i have the same mixer for small gigs and i too love it to death.

i've searched everywhere on the net for them and come up empty handed. i was begining to think they disappeared of the face of the planet.

as far as the "other stuff" can't say i've heard anything good about them.

everyone has such a bad opinion of samson and maybe rightly so, but that mixer can handle a beatin......

sorry i should mention that the quote was from a few months or so ago and probably not even remoatly relivent to the current topic which i haven't got to.

i love readin' old threads.
