Mid-move; chaos reigns.

Someday I'll get all the junk out of this room. Didn't happen today though. Recognize anything, Thememuzic?

I just cleaned up, I'm missing one of my monitors in the pictures because it's at school cause I just got new ones and I had them shipped to school so my parents don't know about them, haha. Anyways, here's what it looks like right now. I'm also in the process of building a rack for my effects and pre's and stuff , I'll have that up in a week or two :)

Here ya go:

i'm hoping i get to the door before my parents do when the delivery man comes with my monitors this week, too  :p it adds a tension/excitement to buying stuff that some people miss out on...

Studio In the Works

Man I really like alot of the photos posted here. I am getting alot of ideas for placement. Here's my temp studio in the works. I'm in an apartment so i can't do much for soundproofing so I'm going to wait until i purchase my first home then really put something better together. I am waiting to add more curtains on this one for a little bit more sound dampening.

Is your mixing position along the length of the room? why not move it 2 the shorter wall. like so

Haha, ya, it seems like every weekend I'm going home with full bags of stuff and go back to school with almost nothing. Hopefully, they aren't catching on, haha.

Even more of a reason to have the mixing position along the wall i suggested. hen sound comes out your right speaker it bounces off your left wall and into your ear, and vice versa. With your setup now it takes a lot long for the right to bounce of the left wall, than it does for the left to bounce off the right. You want them to be the same so you have better stereo imaging. :D

Thanks i will give that a try. I am also going to add curtains to the opening... i'm hoping that will help some as well. I'll post again once i have it all re-configured... thanks again!!!

The curtains will absorb high frequencies only. Make sure there are a lot of ripples in the curtains for more absorbtion. If you could build bass traps for the 2 corners that'd help a bunch, and if you added absorbtion where the sound from the speaker reflects off the wall to your ear, ie get someone to hold a mirror on the side wall while you sit in your mixing position, and at the point you can see the speaker in the mirror place some absorbtion.
